who's doing 12 foot this year? Innes? Beaver- are you attempting 24 foot the same weekend as the rest of the runners attempt 12 foot? ie the day before the City to Surf?

12 foot - Yes
24 foot - No - too many other interesting long runs to do.

I must have a genetic disposition to being abandoned in the middle of the bush, in the middle of night, in the middle of winter, all by myself - but I wouldn't miss it for quids - it's the only race that matters!

I will be trying for sub-14hrs but on past experiences you'd be unwise to set your clock by my pacing.

12 foot = yes
24 foot = good god no!! agree with Spud that out and back is perfect and anymore is just plain silly.

I'm going to do something a bit different and 'race' it backwards.  I am interested in seeing what time I can do back from Jenolan fresh.

Will be looking for anyone that wants to do one way out.  I will drive out with the car with drop bags and then run back, trying to break 5 hours.  Outwards runner can then drive back to the start.

Might start a relay category......

It's a fair way off but I could be interested. Talk about it later.

I'll be overseas this year but will be running a "rebel 12ft" as part of my prep for the French Alps.
Will be interesting to see what time Shogun can run off current form?

I don't actually feel like I have the form I had last year and haven't decided whether I'll run it or not. When are you running your rebel 12FT?

Oh that's funny Shogun, come on you'd smash it up!
I had the 4th of July pencilled in but I see others wanna run 3 Peaks that weekend, so not sure. Either one would be a great hitout. Then there's the RNP fatass the following weekend, I wanna run that too. Great to have choices.

Same same ... I'll be looking at squeezing in a rebel 12ft at a later date, but not sure when.

Definitely not before WS100, everything up until then is well planned.

Certainly got a desire to put a good time on the board there at some stage ...

Cheers, Dog.  :yahoo:

Note to self  - Never attempt 12FT, even running only 6FT starting from jenolan Caves with ONLY a muffin, one banana and 2 litres of water!!

I will start this with everyone this year. The car / drop bag duties will have to be picked up by someone else. Happy for anyone to use my car!

Its funny how we often learn things trial by fire - I am sure a few of you knew of my silly mistake last year on not fueling up sufficiently. So a year later, a year wiser (maybe not), I will)attempt)  run 12FT smart and comfortably.

Car pool welcome. Then again, its still a while away

Also, anyone want to do a 6 hour/walk run this Thursday, June 25? somewhere within 90m of Sydney cbd preferably more on trails than road but some road would be ok

After hearing the stories from lastish, silly is an apt description.

My attendence will depend on me being either a wimp or an idiot.
If i wimp out and cut caboolture short i'll be there
If i complete caboolture then i'd be an idiot if i turned up

Being an idiot is more honourable than a wimp, or is it???  Might see you all there.

maybe being an idiot is more honourable than being a wimp, but is it smarter?

...not this year and unlikely to happen.  Too cold, I am too slow,  15 hours + and there is no Subway Store at 84 km to revive me.  Let alone that I will get lost.

Thanks Tim the second - I am very seldom apt - I feel good about that!!

I might try to sleep first and then start from Megalong valley again but at about 4.30 this time and try not to get lost three times on the way up to Explorers Tree.

I will also try not to lose my scarf - try not to have lights that wouldn't blind a glow worm - try not to spend 40 minutes trying to cross Cox's River - try not to not eat enough and then try not to get convinced I should get the bus back from Jenolan.

All going well I should arrive back at my car before the start of the C2S.

So not at all silly this year!!.

come on Plu- wear a jumper and a beanie mate. re the subway, we can leave some tins of soup tucked in under a tree at the 84km mark. It will taste better than subway by that point. Re 15 hours, that's around what I ran 2 years ago and I dont expect to go any quicker. Lots of walking- not much running.

BLY,

I will take out all the goodies if I run.  It does depend on finding someone that wants to do the outward leg only.

I told my wife I was taking a break during August...will see as it gets closer.

I have the leave pass. Just need the body/conditioning to do it - 8/8 isn't many weeks away, is it?

I'm going to do something a bit different and 'race' it backwards.  I am interested in seeing what time I can do back from Jenolan fresh.

Will be looking for anyone that wants to do one way out.  I will drive out with the car with drop bags and then run back, trying to break 5 hours.  Outwards runner can then drive back to the start.

Might start a relay category......

I have been trying not to say it - but wouldn't running backwards on the track be pretty dangerous?

BLY,

I will take out all the goodies if I run.  It does depend on finding someone that wants to do the outward leg only.

I told my wife I was taking a break during August...will see as it gets closer.
