I have 2 pairs of Brooks Glycerin 6, bought around the same time, and which I have been alternating and have done several hundred kms in.

- a green pair bought in the US from a reputable shop
- a blue pair bought from Rebel sports bargain table

Now these are supposed to be the same shoe and look identical apart from the color (they also seem to be made from different fabric), but I have found they are far from it. The blue ones seem much firmer, both underfoot and the fabric they are made from, whereas the green ones have got a lot spongier over time and the fabric has got softer and less supportive. As a result I have had to stop wearing them and only wear the blue ones now

Is this normal to expect from different colors of the same model, or did I get a "bad" pair of green ones? I need to buy more now - should I be hunting out the blue ones?

Thanks

I've had a couple of pairs of glycerin and often buy shoes in different countries and they often seem to be a bit different to each other, but then i put it down to the fact that a new pair always feels different anyway, and different shoes will have been through different things - eg maybe i've done more wet trail runs in one pair and more road stuff on another etc so i haven't proved to myself that they actually are different - which you seem to have done.

I don't know the answer, but i would be interested to know what Brooks say, if you ask them.....

I have a pair of Glycerin 6 and mine are purple and very soft. I need to change to the Defyance 2 which have a much firmer sole. I had a look around ebay when I bought mine and other on line shops and they did seem to come in a few colours depending on the country. Maybe each model is marketed a little differently depending on where they are being sold. K

I could've sworn that the only the glycerine 5s came in blue. The 6s were either green or yellow (and purple in womens) The fact the the blue pair is firmer, which sounds like the 5 compared to the 6, makes me pretty certain that your blue ones are 5s.

Definitely 6 - see below. They are identical lookign to the green ones apart from the color

Hey there,

Yes, the Glycerin 6 was available in a blue & a green in Australia (the yellow was an international colour).

These shoes are the same model therefore should be of the same design, however we are more than happy to take a look at them if you feel there are inconsistancies.

CJR - I've got your email, so I'll write straight back to you.
