Them Times Would Be Very Competitive I Do Loads More Trainning And Could Only Do A High 28 8k
But Your Times Don't Really Add Up If You Can Do 27:30 For 8k You Should Be Doing About 13 Flat For 4k

Your times are very good, especially if your only been training a few months. What other sports have you done over the last few years? Check out the various state school sport sites for appropriate times for your age. CBs P.S. Remember race times for XC are less important, because of the terrain and also accuracy of the distance.

I suggest you find a local athletics coach, who can do a complete review to see how you are traveling.
Coaches can be found on Australian Track and Field Coaches website or check with your local athletics club(List is on Athletics NSW website.
If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me.

I play and ref lots of touch footy. Playing at least 3 games and reffing 3 a week.
yeh that comment in regards to the validity of x country times is a good point.
i should probably also specify that those are training times not competition and are along my training route which is alternating grass and footpath.

Oh yeah- and I'm running at All Schools XC as well. Have you run at Eastern Creek yet? What zone thing (e.g. CIS) are you from?

what about you?
im from CCC. in the qualifying competition at Eastern creek i ran a much worse time than 27.30 though which is the best ive done training. something more along the lines of a high mid to high 28 i think.
how'd u go at youre qualyifier thing?

I came 3rd at my qualifier, I'm in CIS, or Combined Independent Schools. Are you in the private school system? I haven't heard of CCC. Our qualifier was at Eastern Creek as well, on the 28th May.
Obviously I don't know where you live, but there's a XC/athletics group that trains at Cherrybrook (near Hornsby) every Monday and Wednesday night, $10 per session, with a level 4 middle distance coach. That's the one I'm in, but I'm sure you'd have one nearby even if you live miles away, they'd have websites. Good luck with finding a coach. Keep us updated on your progress!
