This is the best shoe I've run in. They are so light that after a long run my legs and feet still feel fresh.
I have tried running in numerous shoes but have a problem of wearing out the inside heel of the upper due to wearing orthotics. The lunas eliminate this problem as there is minimal material in the upper.
I see the new Luna Glides have just been released and these will be my next pair so I can alternate them with the Luna Trainers.

Have all three incarnations and love the lightweight cushioning of the Trainers and the Racers. The Glides are a little different again - not as light, but still not heavy. Great road feel and if you like the Trainers, the Glides could become your workhorse, freeing up the Trainers for speedwork and longer tempo type stuff.

I've tried them but didn't really like them. They feel nice on and extremely light but too spongy for me.

I can't see why the trainers would be any different for general all-round training as they are built on the same last (I am still using up my old Pegasus and Air Span collection so can't comment on the trainers).
Still prefer Spiders for racing.

Having said that, I haven't done much running of any sort lately...but they are the first shoes I put on to wear around house etc...very comfy.

Nike means quality, I vouch for this company.
Nike make the best running shoes on the planet (and the moon also). The pegasus range have embedded electronic in the sole that talk to ipod to give you feedback. Because of the electronics they cant be ripped of by pirates like other brands. Nike's last forever.
I have one pair 2 years old, the cushion went soft after about 2000Km. I bought another pair and washed the original in the washing machine, it came out like brand new.

as for runnur - the toe problem can be solved by changing the way you lace the shoes to allow for more toe room
I wore the racers in the melbourne marathon last year and they held up pretty well - it might seem "spongy" at first but it does harden up a bit during the course of the race...

Felt great straight out of the box.
Having the cushioning is a good thing for a person currently more suited weight wise for an English Channel crossing. But I will let Kev have that to himself!!

Can someone give me a very quick rundown on the difference between the Trainers and the Racers. Weight, stability, something like that I would presume.
Oh, and if someone wants to PM me too with where they recommend to get 2 more pairs, I would be greatly appreciative

But I went for a 5km run in them last night and found it hard work actually...quite unresponsive because I am used to the springiness of the Vomero's.

Would love to hear more on the whole Lunar range, especially with some new models coming out at the moment. I've noticed that lots of US running forums are being taken over by what seems to be a huge and fanatical lunar glide cult.
They seem like quite a radical departure to me. What do people think? The future of running shoes? Gimmick we will look back and laugh at? Suitable for some people but not others?
Fwiw I just bought some of the new Lunar Elites on a crazy whim (I was actually in the shop to buy a fuel belt), so I will give my two cents worth after I've had a chance to try them out.

Before long I will need to get myself a new pair of trainers, and was thinking of switching to something in the lunar range, especially with a new line of models just out, and am interested, like Rico, as to whether these are suitable for the biomechanics of all runners, and if this stuff is really as good as some have hyped it up to be?
I would love to think this is a revolutionary breakthrough in the future technology of running shoes, but would still like to hear more before making a purchase.

i have the grey ones (training shoes) with the fluoro yellow cushioning.
only criticism is the tread design which picks up rocks and small sticks. not a good shoe for some trails.

Luckily for me, I don't do all that much trail running, so the tread design shouldn't be a problem.

just ran 38km in them today at 4;45/km which is about what I would expect of myself right now.
mostly on concrete so the comfiness was appreciated and the tread wasn't an issue.
it sounds like you want to try some, so if I was you I'd buy some for your next pair of runners. Providing they actually suit your amount of pronation I don't think you'll be disappointed.
They're fine shoes, just not miraculous.

I've never liked the Lunar Trainers when I tried them on - the base is so wide they feel like snow shoes to me! However I tried on both the Lunar Elite and Glide in Rebel the other day and was happy to note they felt like a regular shoe.

And does anyone know how much they cost?

Lunar Geek here
I own all three, and each work in their own way. What's better depends your foot and the type of running that you're doing.
Trainers are to become superseded, but they are the lightest and theoretically least stable of the 3. Look around and you could potentially get change of $150.
The Elites are the so-called fast shoe, but aren't too much lighter than the Glides. In spite of this, they feel firm and fast. $200 at Rebel, but shop around.
The Glides are the workhorse of the trio, and the most shoe, but would be lighter than many everyday trainers. $180 or so.
Naturally look online, as many US retailers (no names mentioned, I know the deal) are selling the Glides and Elites at $100USD + postage, and the Trainers for less.
If you're looking at the Trainers, it's worth trying a half size bigger than the Elites and Glides.
After all that, you also have the Racers. Odd fit (narrow & pointy), but a spectacular mix of cushioning and lightweight for something that appears to be more shoe than many other flats, but probably weighs closer to a track spike (Victories & Matumbos aside).

As you can see from this shot, they've narrowed the gap, which should help quite a lot.
I really like these shoes.

I was going to get the Glides but ran with the Avants instead. Great light shoe with plenty of fore foot cushioning I have a pair of trainers as well and the Avants are the pick.

I tested a pair out tonight at the NIKE run for the Kids training group - only ran 5km in them (having a lazy day today) and they felt pretty good apart from my right little toe which lost a little bit of feeling (Must have tied up the shoe a bit tight) OR... Maybe my foot is too wide??
I have always ran in Brooks Adrenline so a bit up in the air about changing! The additional extras like the NIKE watch which tracks distance ran, calories burnt etc.. chip fits into the shoe... Some choices to make!!

hopefully by the time they're worn out the tread issues are resolved.

Yeah, but for whatever reason, I only seem to pick up big stones in that central groove. The little stones don't bother me so much, but I've been getting the old rock that makes it sound like I'm running in tap shoes. Not the idea trail shoes though, you'd have to say.

I used to run in Zoom Elites years ago, and to date, they are still one of the best shoes I have run in. But these are now superseded by the Lunar Elites so just wondering how they compare.
Cheers.

Went for my first run in my new Lunar Eilte+ shoes last night. I used to always run in Zoom Elites, so was curious to see how the new shoe compared. The Lunar Elite is a bit lighter than the Zoom eilte, but it feels like it gives more support. The sole may be thicker as well. They feel great for running in, they feel light, supportive and the cushioning is great. They feel a bit softer than my previous pair of Zoom Elites. I much prefer the new shoes over the old Zoom Elites. I purchased 2 pair online for a total $250, they go for $200 a pair at Rebels.

Hi Keith
I will PM the web address to you, I think this follows the current protocol of not displaying web addresses of companies who ship to Australia.
