I have 2 pairs of Mizuno Inspire and love them.
They are light and good for longer races. I ran 10km WMG in them and will run half mara in them as well.

i think its important to find a shoe that fits your running style.... i have a pair of mizuno as well that are perfect for a lot of people but do not suit my wonky running style therefore they are not very good for me.... i was properly fitted recently and found to have an over pronation problem that requires a shoe that provides more support/stability (Brooks Addiction), that shoe is perfect for me now.

I have been running in Mizuno's for the last 4 years and have not had any issues with them at all.

I use the Inspires for my longer runs and I have a pair of Ultimates for my shorter quicker runs (up to 10k).

What is really important here, as SumDamChick said, is finding the right shoe for you.

You don't have my feet and my shoes will not fit you as well as they do me. Everyone experiences different issues with different brands and models. Asics are the most popular brand on the market, but they don't suit my feet, so there is no point in me trying to run in a pair, no matter what version.

Been wearing Mizuno's for years now and yes, am happy with them. Moved from Asics one year when the Asics were out of stock.

I seem to have a foot that fills shoes well (as against shoes that fit foot), as don't get blisters and stuff.

Can only say what they said - you might just gotta try different brands and see what works.

PS - Dooddarc - What are you being not happy about?

I LOVE my wave ultima's. I was die hard for the Adidas Supernova Classics which are now on the endangered list. I had been running in them for 9 years, so finding a new shoe was a major challenge. The mizunos I'm wearing are lightweight, comfortable and have a lot of mid sole cushioning.

I retired my third pair of wave inspires yesterday, and will shortly be opening the box on a fourth pair. Yeah, pretty happy with 'em.

Mizuno Wave Alchemy. on my gazillionth pair - literraly today purchased my 4th pair this year. the only cr*p pair i got was when i paid $58 for a pair on line. i suspect they were a knock off. i get about 800k out to them. just about every other shoe seems to result in ITB probs. ...but evebody is different of course and you need to find what suits you.

I love my Mizuno Wave Inspires - I don't think I would have completed a marathon if I hadn't changed to them. They are obviously the shoe for me!!

I have tried other brands that seem fine when training for up to 10 km runs, but further than that and I started having leg and foot problems - which thankfully disappeared when I went to In-Training running shop and got properly fitted for a shoe and came away with my first pair of Mizuno Wave Inspire's. Now onto my third pair - and I am not going to change something that works for me!

Had never even thought about a pair of them until I was properly fitted.

I love them, they are heaps better than the Nike's I used to run in (however these we not properly fitted either, just self fitted from Pauls Warehouse).

I love the feel of Mizunos-( wave rider) unfortunately for me they are not quite the right shape for my heel and I end up with either blisters or bursitis but I love how they feel.

I have run in Mizuno inspires for the past 2 years and I must say I am a big fan. The best thing about them is that the wave plate construction gives the shoe a really good torsional stability without weighing the shoe down. I previously ran in numerous pairs of Asics Kayanos and I believe that all the extra bells and whistles like the Gel cushinoning and duomax support sytem weighs the shoe down and is not needed, I find with ascis that they tend to try and reinvent the wheel too often and this results in bad batchs of shoes from year to year. The Inspire is a far more responsive ride and hasn't changed too much in the way of construction which allows me to be confident going forward with them as a brand

Two sheds you may find that getting a proper assessment of your shoes is required. The Mizuno range is quite varied and between models they can change alot. Making sure your foot type and motion is linked with the right type of Mizuno is very important for fitment.

What a coincidence, I have always run in brooks adrenalines and never really thought of changing. Got to Caloundra and unpacked and found that someone had left my bag of shoes at home in Sydney so lucky me went shopping for a new pair of shoes. The guy in the local sports shop talked me into a pair of Mizuno wave alchemy and I tried them out this morning and they were great. They feel nice and light compared to my brooks and nil blisters or adverse effects. So yep I like them, so far so good!

I switched to Mizunos 3 years ago after heaps of problems with Asics and Brooks. I've never looked back and can't imagine I'd ever use another brand again. The only exception is I have racing flats in Brooks, purely because I have small feet and they were one of the few to make racing flats in my size.

I mostly run in brooks ST racers but i do rotate through different shoes including a pair of Mizuno Wave Precisions, which are lightweight neutral and nice for road racing.

I really like my Wave Creations (onto my third pair) - although they dont last as long as I would like. Also my Wave Ascends are a nice light trail shoe.

Long time Mizuno fan here too, been wearing Riders since version 3 way back, and have had numerous pairs of each release since, except for a few dodgy years, think it was the Rider 6 and 8's that just weren't right, not sure if they were bad batches or crappy clones, so it's not just Asics. The best Riders i reckon were the special release IAAF version 10's still have 2 pair I love, but wearing out fast. Also the Precisions are great for faster stuff if you can get them, and the Ascends for trail, especially the chilli red Ascend 3's. :)

I have a pair of Mizuno Wave Idaten and love them. I had worn Asics religiously for years, but when shopping around for lighter racing shoes Asics just didn't fit right. So I now train in Asics 2140s and race in Mizuno Idaten. Both seem to be good brands.

What is the Mizuno shoe best suited to a mild to moderate pronator.? I've shyed away from the Asic 2140 due to many unfavourable reviews on these. Weight of the shoe will also be important to me so it's gotta be pretty minimal yet supporting.

I love my mizuno's. I'm on my 2nd pair each of wave precision for the road and wave ascend for the trails. These are both suited for the neutral runner. I've ran in asics, nike and soucony(in that order) before and found the mizuno's best suited me.

Waverunner, they'd prob have a description of the sort of runner for each shoe design that should answer your question.

kazz.

Hey rainlover. I am also mild/moderate and have successfully used nirvana and inspire. Maybe give either a go...

only had one pair and found that the wave structure crushed down pretty quickly. didn't get long useage out of that pair of shoes compared to more traditionally structured shoes.

same problem for me with the mizunos, but I'm resigning myself to just needing to spend more $$ - trying to find a new shoe in my case becomes very expensive and aggravating with all the trial and error!

Had problems with my feet about 10 years ago. Went to the runners shop in Randwick (Sydney Striders sponsor).
They fitted me wuth Mizuno's Wave Creation, and I have had no problems since. I have no idea how many pairs since then! (Perhaps 25)

I have congenitally flat feet - They look like slabs, no arch at all.

I kept getting sold shoes with arch support, and that was what caused the problems. I haven't had a problem since the day I visited the runners shop.

So as the other posts have pointed out, its all about the shoe matching the foot! and for my flat slabs it is Mizuno's
(From memory there may have been some 'Brooks' model as well that was O.K.)

I thought the Creations had good arch support from memory ?
I have had a couple of pair of them but preferred the lighter Riders and I have high arches.

Bellthorpe, Can you reveal the name of the place you are purchasing from. I was looking at a place called ********* in the USA but they have a $59.99 (US) shipping cost plus any applicable taxes. I'm switching from Asic to Mizuno after doing quite a bit of research and testing. It doesn't sound like Road Runner are too competitive?

I know you asked Bellthorpe but I got my Wave Riders from ******** in the US and they cost me $US 99.99 with $US 34.99 delivery. The delivery was SUPER quick, three to four days. They have a very good range of colours and sizes.

people mention they bought xxx shoes from xyz overseas on CR.
the australian importer/distributer of xxx shoes sees it on CR and rings xyz and says hey youre not posting to australia any more.
so they dont.

HUGE fan of Mizuno. My most recent Online-order-from-an-OS-firm-that-dares-not-speak-its name included noice new pairs of Size 9 Inspire & Ascend.

Unfortuantely, the Ascends appear to be a half size smaller than the others and I am having trouble adjusting. Not enough to go intot he irked thread but enough to make one wary of ordering Mizunos without first trying on.

I have been told Mizuno are discontinuing the precisions. Can anyone confirm? If so I can't understand why shoe companys do this to a very popular shoe. Years ago I had a greta new balance shoe that was discontinued after 3 or so years and I have never found one of their range that agrees with me since.
