I went from Nimbus to Glycerin and develped muscle strain/pain on the inside of my right ankle....never had it before.

Is the Glycerin a much harder cushion than the Nimbus? It kinda feels less bouncy than the Nimbus but I saw some research that said Glycerin disperses shock better than Nimbus. Hmmmmm Anyone else get pain wearing Glycerin?

Nimbus is by far the softer shoe in the market... I bought a pair last year and I hated it... they are still brand new here and I just can't use it!

I am currently using the Adrenaline! Great running shoe!

How long have you been using the Glycerin? Maybe you are just sore due to adaptation...

I didn't think of adaptation. I think I am doing damage to my legs rotating between such a soft shoe like Nimbus and a harder shoe like Glycerin. I have only been rotating them for the last couple of months so it could be adaptation. Do you think I should just stick to the one type?

Thanks

I had the same problem with the Glycerin, they are a lot harder than the Nimbus. I was at Active Feet yesterday and the guy said Brooks use a harder material that Asics generally. There is a new Glycerin due out early next year which apparently has addressed a few of these issues and will be more like the old Glycerin 2-4. As a side note, I tried on a the New Balance firm neutral (can't remember it's code name), a competitor to Brooks Defyance and they felt great, really cusioned, heaps of toe room. Will be giving them a go. K

hmmmm

my way of thinking this (as a researcher) is:

run with one type of shoe for 1-2 weeks and observe if pain goes away... if it goes stick to it! If not, try the other shoe... and see what happens...

This would work if the previous damage was not too big and if your training regime is quite stable...

just my 0.2 cents here...
