Following a great Sydney CR tradition, I will be running the Bay early on Christmas morning - last year we left from Brett Pk at 5.30am and it was glorious.

For those wanting to sleep in on xmas day (!)  :good: the Sydney CR5k challenge will be on as usual the next day (26th).

Now, where did I put those flashing antlers...

Much as I loved running the bay on Christmas morning last year, my Christmas crazy run this year is the santa run tomorrow.   Enjoy the early morning calm on the bay.
:good:

Good lord - were we up and running by 5:30 last year? A social lap of the bay on Christmas morning  - a very nice way to start the festivities - and a great excuse for falling asleep on the sofa mid afternoon - see you there.

I'll be there again followed by a detour to Darling St for croissants and coffee - a perfect way to kick off Christmas Day.

Geez... have we known each other that long ??!?!?! I remember way back when these started.

I wont be along due to now living on the Central Coast.

Maybe some of the Central Coast Runners could meet & we could do our own Xmas morning run??

This looks like a great idea. One question though: how far/long do you go? Not sure how long we can keep the children at bay with presents under the tree...

Traditionally a lap (7km) of the bay at a leisurely pace.

I have new antlers!  I'm planning on another double this year - midnight mass followed by freaking early Christmas day jog  :D

Really hoping the antlers hold up for the whole 7km this year.  You just don't get much for $2.95 these days..

minimum 7km (and if you're doing a solid pace with Easy Tiger and some of the other greyhounds in our midst that should take you, oh, about 25mins) or if you're with the rest of us somewhere in the 40-50min range :D. Some of us have been known to do 2 laps just to make sure we really deserve that pavlova later in the day.

I mentioned the Christmas Day run in passing to my daughter, who casually suggested that there may be no presents left for me by the time I got home.

Enjoy the morning folks.

I like how you two use open forums to communicate rather than personal channels...

Sadly won't be at the run around the bay this year. I think I only went once and did 3 laps. Remember as they say, "anything less than the best is a felony".

I do not forecast rain for Christmas Morning. When I'm pissed and snoring at 6pm it can rain all it wants.

I have somehow misplaced by musical antlers. I know Action just loves them. :D

I will have to source alternative wear for Friday.

Friday Rain developing.

I should get Yoli to register, so I can talk her into something nice :D

Was looking forward to my first one...but unlikely...my referred nerve pain from L5/S1 is being silly again...and I am doing very little running...last night it was shooting/twitching/tightening in achilles.

Might go for ride instead...have lots of fun and merry xmas

It was fun! and it didn't rain though the humidity must have been about 95%. Pretty good turnout too though superflake must have still been looking for those antlers, unless they were the pair Action was sporting... I do believe some photos were taken at various points along the way.

Hope your back is feeling better soon Colin.

Don't forget about the Yab Nur on 1/1/10! see the Sydney Summer Twilight link in my signature for details.

Sorry I missed it this morning. Woke up and proceeded to turn the alarm off and get back in bed.

Found a Santa hat with Merry Christmas marked on it at a warehouse shop yesterday.
Late purchase so marked down from $2 to $1.  :D

Merry Christmas to all the bay Santas.

I'm not going to make it this year...combination of complete lack of sleep and still having breathing issues so it's likely to turn into a walk not run (which would put me even further behind the rest of the reindeer!).

Have a great run and I'll be there in spirit!
