No, Im interested to hear about them though so when I go to get them this time next year they will be discounted :D I am very happy with the 15's still, Rebel Sport had them for $179 so I got 2 and with a gift voucher even cheaper.

Two bruised 2nd toes from the k16's have seen me take them back for something else. Nike Equalon, as suggested by a Pod, should be better (he says) I'll take them back again if they give me trouble. :good:

Thats interesting because I constantly had problems with my second toes when I wore the Kayano 15's. Now I've changed shoes there doesn't seem to be a problem.

That is very interesting. Will see how I manage in the Equalon's I had some span6's prior and they were ok, but you knew when they were done. Otherwise they were ok.

Fantastic!

My previous pair were Kayano 13’s and I didn’t love them – they were just allright. I used to get shin pains which I put down to trying to run too fast too soon.

Last weekend I went to Active Feet and I was adamant that I didn’t need to spend $269 for Kayano 16’s and I was sure that there must be something else out there that’s just as good and just as supportive for $180 to $230.

Anyway, I did all treadmill video analysis and tried on 4 or 5 other pairs. The staff were adamant that the Kayano 16’s were the best shoes for me and my style.

I really wasn’t keen on principle, at first they didn’t feel any better than the cheaper Asics/Brooks models. Plus the Kayano 16’s are ugly!

Anyway, they eventually said that the others would be fine, but the Kayanos really were the best for me, so I reluctantly forked out the $269 and went home with them.

A week and a half and a few runs later I can honestly say they're just awesome! They're just so comfortable, they feel like they were made for me. So much better than my old 13’s. I even did some hill/faster running and – no shin pains!

I think I should draw-down on my mortgage and go and buy up 100 pairs before they change the model- that should last me for the rest of my life because I don't want another shoe! I can always spray paint the lot so I don't have to live with all that white. :unknw:

I’m sure there are those who they don’t suit, but for me – perfect (except for the colour!)

Apologies for the essay!

Thanks BIGKEV, I'm always on the lookout for good prices on the Kayanos. A couple of years ago I Rebel Online were selling old stock of the 13's for $150 or some rediculous price so I bought 3 pair now I feel reluctant to pay the higher dollars but you've got to I suppose.

Just checked the website and Kayano 16 are 108pounds (~$195). I can get them in Preston for $205 so I'll stick with them.

I love my new 16's but just recently I've developed a soreness where the new lace thread is outside the big toe (don't know if it coincidence or unrelated yet, will have a run in my old pair to see)

Hmmm well I've got a new pair of 16s now and I'm not at all sure about them. General comfort is OK, and the asymmetrical lacing is fine BUT they seem to be a harder ride than the 15s? I'm certain they don't feel as soft out of the box as the couple of pairs of 15s that I had....

Now I'm wondering if I should try and find a few pairs of 15s on sale before they disappear.

I hate trying to buy shoes....................... ;)

I've had the 16's for around 5-6 months now and have done around 500-700 Kms in them. They are a pretty comfortable shoe but I think its time for a new pair as im also getting bad 2nd toe bruises on both feet.

On the topic of 16’s – I’ve got the slightly ugly Gold/White/Black ones – but I’ve seen that Rebel Sport appear to have an all-black pair.

Keen to buy another pair of 16’s but can only see the Gold/White/Black ones and Rebel don’t stock larger sizes. Even the Asics Australia site only shows the Gold ones.

Anybody know of anywhere else that stocks the black ones? The only place I’ve ever seen them is the Rebel Catalogue. Not even overseas.

Does anybody know?

So far, I saw the black ones at Rebel (City & Southland).

Thanks, I've since found RED ones online so I'll go for a couple of pairs of those methinks. Strange that the only place I (and you) have ever seen the black ones is at Rebel. Not even online, or direct from Asics. Weird.

Actually, I found the black ones on eBay as well, coming from US from my memory.

Do the ones from the US come in different colours? The women's 16s have a white/rose and white/blue colour scheme on some of the internet sites, but the local shops seem to have only white/purple. And of course, the US asics site redirects me off to the uk so I can't check :D

I’m not sure about the ladies, but the mens are. In Aus they’re White/Gold/Black but the ones I’ve found in the Us are either White/Blue/Black or White/Red/Black.

I am currently in South Korea in the process of getting married. I met my wife to be in Sydney 5 years ago. She is Korean Australian. I always have my Kayano's sent from Korea by her family as they are $150 here. I have had 12's thru to 16's now and the 16's are as good as ever. I won't ever have anything else. Simply brilliant.

Is anyone interested in me sending some over for you?

Infact any kind of Asics. I got trail sensor 3's for just over $100! Decent trail shoe.
