Well I completed my first ever tri on Sunday morning. A local club race - 250/10/2. Had done no training at all and had only ridden 3.5km on Saturday afternoon for the first time since I bought my bike two months ago (which is also the first time I have ridden in probably 15 years)

I think I was dead last the whole way, really struggled in the swim and got lost twice on the run leg but I ended up finishing in 56.45. Pretty ordinary time but I figure I can only get better.

I'm aiming for an OD in March next year so if I maintain the same pace over the longer distance, that will be a finishing time of about 4hrs. Lot of training to do between now and then but I'm really looking forward to finishing the OD.

Any others doing the Sparke Helmore OD??

glad you enjoyed it, i still remeber my first tri - it's a great feeling to have done one - especially if you've not really been into sport before that.
dont worry about your time, you'll get faster quickly at the star with more practice. swimming especially is all technique
