Haha pretty funny seeing yourself talked about on a forum
Solo record attempt, not sure it should count with no pressure from competitors :)

How the hell can anyone run 60 second laps between beers.  It's ridiculous.  I'm in awe.

lol josh, talk us through your race, consistent laps but you slowed down on the beer after the first one, what strategic hints and techniques can you as an elite beermiler share with us honest toilers ;-)

I think one of the keys to running fast is to control the 400m's. I have attempted beer miles in the past to find that my drinking would slow considerably throughout, because i have ran too fast.
I drink every beer as fast as i physically can. I cannot maintain the 1st drink pace after running a lap (or even if i sculled consecutive beers for that matter). I can scull one in about 10sec so my first split was controlled. The last 3 beers all took 3 efforts (2 breaths) any more in a mouthful and i think i would have spewed, admittedly i lose big time breathing too long and had to tell myself to drink! The difference between me and elite (e.g WR 5.09) is that he drank them all without breathing, and sub 10sec!!!
To break 6 you need to be able to run a bit. I am an ok mid-long distance man myself (1.54 800 up to 30.50 10km) so i was running at about 3km pace during (probably running 31/34 200m's though in an attempt to get to the next beer feeling good). Note- 10m can be gained each lap by walking to the end of the 10m drink zone.
Ah you need to burp alot while running especially during the first 100m of the lap.
Pretty obvious but leave nothing on the track over the last 400m.
Think there is the vid on you tube somewhere. I would consider flying up for this next year haha!
Cheers!
