I was reminded of the climb up to Oaky many times on the AAWT, similar but through dense shrub.
Look forward to it 2P, a BM's classic.

I'm a tentative, maybe, possilbe, probable.  Done this twice and the score is 1-1.  Sort of need to get some revenge.  Will be back doing road stuff then hopefully training for GCM, but would be fun to break up the training.

Not sure those namby pamny road runners would appreciate the slog up to Oaky or the descent into Hellgate (even though it has been graded) be fun to watch though.

Looks like a bumper field already!

I'll definitely be camping and will do the water drop thingee at Blood Filly (also can put drops out further afield if anyone is contemplating BOTW) on Friday night - happy for someone else to volunteer to do a drop on Blacks Range.

The Hellgate Tree beckons....

Ian, if you can't run 45km in April, you will be in really big trouble trying to run 100km in May.

I'm in for this.  Sounds like a great course and perfect prep for TNF - doing the soft option of the relay this year, but other goals to pursue later in the year...

What sort of numbers are we looking at now then?

I am in for the April 17 hit out - Being navigational challenged, I strong ask that other HGG newbies not follow me.
I believe the other SWEAT team members will be out as well, making it a nice training weekend for the team!!
Its the Full monty for me

Ian - HGG is in mid April - TNF is in Mid May. 4 weeks is plenty.

It is important for you to know that post HGG you would still need to follow up with the recovery runs and good post run nutrition intake. Running a 100km is not all about doing LSD as well. A nice 10km somwhere in-between is good for your soul (and your anarobic endurance) 10km is the basic building block for a lot of things...(I am sure SOMEONE Here will beg to diff)

PS I'm taking Saturday off work but I also work Sunday evening. Is this unheard of or impossible after taking the 100km, or is it completely out of the question (and so even more tantalising) and therefore the 46km the better option.

I'm in for 17th April but need a lift.
I'm coming from the Central Coast and can get a train somewhere for a pickup.
I'm keen to bring my bivy bag and camp.
I could be easily talked into either the 100km or 46km.

Hey Bro (forget your name, it's Dan from the GNW (failed!). Sure if you need a lift sometime, I'll have a pretty bushy car on the day).

I think I'll bring the bivy too even though it's 500g. Would you carry yours or drop it?

I am also signed up for Marathon relay this year with Caleb, Jo0006 + one other, so short option for me.

Goodness me we might need wave starts this year! There's at least another half a dozen people I've spoken to over the last week who have said they are coming who haven't put their names down yet. Bags the early wave :D  ...as long as I can get to Jenolan before the cannonballs start coming down the steep bit.

Car pool and camp at start would be the best way to ensure a same start for all.

For those who are relatively "new" (No offence intended) and using this as "training" for Northface 100km, do carry the whole shebang gears with you. Its a good chance for you to test out your gears (and also your packing skills). Also, that means I wouldn't have to share my previous nutella Sandwich with you too..

Thanks to 2P for kicking stating what would be another fantastic FATASS!!!

I'm keen. I'm yet to experience the Hellgate. I really should do something about that omission.

Camping sounds fun. Is there a northern suburbs car pool happening that I can get in on?

Buzz, you missed me off the list too  :D

Hi Dan, Memory jog - my name is Grant :D
Thanks for the lift offer. Are you coming from Ermington?
I plan to leave my bivy secured in someone's car, I don't plan to be on trail for long enough to need it!

It might be easier for me to get a ride with the northern suburbs car pool (when it exists). Paul, got any offers yet? Keep me in the loop.

i would love to join you, subject to confirmation with the tribe at home.  If so i would be going up from the northern beaches and could pick up on the way if anyone wanted a lift.  Camping the night would be the way to go.

Team HorrieBel are only in for the official run on 17th April as we will be joining Long Arms at Wingello the week before.
