Damn!... Forgot this was on. Got home from training and switched it on just in time to see the closing credits. Hope they repeat it sometime soon.

the best part was the guy (forget his name) who had done the first ever Hawaiian Iron Man (in 1978) and was doing this one - mind you, he hadn't done an iron-man since. He was telling about the "equipment" and "support" or lack thereof in the first iron-man. His bike didn't even have a waterbottle holder. He wore a cut-off pair of jeans with pockets, and carried money, to stop and buy drinks and snacks on the ride leg. He even stopped for a feed at McDonalds!! Classic...

His name is Dave Orlowski, and he said at the Carbo Party that he also was very paranoid about having the bike stolen when he went into a gas-station to buy Slim Jims or Twinkies (or some other American junk food) to eat on the bike leg.

My fave part of the TV replay was the totally lost female age-grouper who ran into the men's change tent, only to be politely shown the door by the volunteers. She could have stayed as far as I was concerned!
