I run there a fair bit EM (and also had my car broken into there last weekend so be careful on that score).
http://www.athletics.....ourse Map.pdf
Looking at the aerial map on the Aths Aust web site I would say it would be "undulating" but its a bit hard to pinpoint exactly where the trail is in some cases. There is the scope for a couple of serious hills to be thrown in as some are close to what appears to be the course.
If its where I think it is, expect a little uphill just before the turn at the furthest point out. You could be sidehill till you get to what looks like an oval near CarPark B. Its probably close to flat till a hundred metres or so before the finish (just where the out and in lines move away from next to one another thee may be a hill and the finish is probably slight uphill).
I might try and suss the course out on Saturday as I live close by, and put up a post. Will probably come and have a look Sunday. Good luck anyway.

firstly, dont expect the grass to be anywhere near as green as in the attachment
I do a fair bit of running there as well and, from what i can tell, (if the course is where i think it is on the map) the course is pretty much the flattest area in all of brimbank. The main hills should be to and from the start/finish line.
I may be wrong though, since i am struggling to compare the overhead view in my memory to the attachment.
Hope this helps!

Endurance Machine, have a look at the elevation chart of this run on Garmin Connect for a bit of a guide. I basically ran my first km or so of this run back along what will be very close to the first half/ outbound part of the loop. (I as going the opposite way however). I was on a path while I'd say the race will be on the grass nearby the path.
If you look at the elevation chart (scale is in miles for some reason), you have to work backwards from the peak before the 1 mile mark which says elevation 112 feet. This will be a bit below your race start point.
Work back to my start point which will be around about your turn-around for a rough guide to the outbound part of the loop. So this probably means downhill if anything at the start, a chance of a sharp little rise near the turn as I mentioned and an uphill finish. If I can, I'll run the proper marked course with my Garmin on Sat morning and post again. Lucky you don't have to run the hill I did at about the 1 1/2 mile mark. This is over 8% for 500 metres. You'll see that on the right on the way into the car park.

I'm one of the people setting-up the course so I'm quite familiar with it!!! Our last reconnisance was just pre-xmas so not sure what the recent hot weather has done to some of the grass/weeds which were very thick over the course in some parts.
The start/finish area is dead flat and basically dirt. From the start it goes straight for about 100-150m before a u-turn, straight for 30-40m then right turn and into a 5-10m deep gully which as fairly smooth sides but is a bit of pinch on the up-side.
The next 200-300m could be quite thick with the shin-high weeds (if they haven't died), but when we were there pre-xmas they were very green and soft, and would be flattened by the end of the first race, ie, only a problem early on in the day.
The course is flat out to the turn-around alongside a bike path, except for one short section of 20-30m where we're taking the course into a bit of rough, down and up a slight dip on the river bank. We'll be clearing all sticks/obstacles, but it might be a bit rough/uneven underfoot for 20-30m.
It's then flat to the turn-around on dirt (some patchy grass), and continues flat after the turn around except for another 50m section where the course goes up 5-10m on the side of an embankment. This also had some decent grass pre-xmas but will flatten out quickly, also.
The course is then flat back towards the start - some sections through the thick weeds - then it goes back through the same little gully down and back up to the start/finish area. The kick up this gully is higher/steeper than on the way out, and is only 150m or so before the finish line.
In general it's pretty dead flat and relatively smooth, except for 4 small hills/undulations. The unknown until we get there to see it, is how thick the weeds are. Otherwise it's quite a fast course and will be 2km per lap within about 5-10m.
I hope this helps. See you there on Sunday morning, and good luck!!

looking forward to this race but the early scheduled start of 7:30 on a Sunday morning for the mens event is going to be a shock to the body
the senior mens start list looks a bit thin on paper but in reality Shelley is the only one missing from last years selected team.
I think the racing will be keen with Birmingham & Adams from last years WXC team
vying for spots with current National title holder Perrett. Hunt is always up there giving himself every chance.
as well there are a number of young up and coming Vics very keen to try and get a guernsey on this team
lets hope some of these young guns have met the all the selection criteria, (well at least read them
)
also
Im curious as to what team selections will result from this years WXC trials.
AA have only recently (past 3 years) started giving the WXC team selections any serious support and consideration but with the Comm games on this year
who knows what their priorities are.
as well , juniors have had restrictions applied to the criteria due to world juniors being on in the same year
Not sure if the change of locations from Canberra to Brimbank Park is an indication of anything rather than a location rotation
but I think the team selections when announced will reveal all
cant wait

That hill is pretty bad
I do the opposite hill to that which starts in the last carpark, crosses the top and goes down on your side.

I run brimbank park every night , love it .... cant wait for Sunday, to watch some top aussie talent
although 7.30am is very early? by the time the guys arrive & warm up its going to be a very early start. Weather forcast is showers windy and 20.
Good thing about a loop course I can watch them zoom pass many times .
Another comment is why hasnt this event been advertised a bit better to the general pubic and recreation runners ?
if this event was in the afternoon and was advertised even in the 4 local papers you would get a good size crowd as there is also alot of family picnics & BBQs in the park in the afternoon
