The dates for the Tour De Tri 24hr triathlon have been released as Sunday the 2nd and Monday the 3rd of May 2010, which is a long weekend in Queensland. The event will again be at Kawana Waters on the Sunshine Coast.
The link to the website is Tour De Tri
This is a charity event with all proceeds going to the LETR which supports Paralympians.
There is both a 24 hour and 6 hour option and you complete as many 300m swim / 12km ride / 2km run triathlons as you can within the time frame. You can enter as part of a team or individually.
I did this event in a team last year and had a ball. Great event, great atmosphere, well organised and a lot of fun.
I'll be back this year, more than likely having a crack as an individual. Highly recommended and something a little different.

Teamed it also last year, and will be solo this year! It was a blast; personally my favourite event of last year! This year the wifey adn kids are coming up to camp on the course too, by camp I mean her dad is dropping off his 5th wheeler for them to sleep in

Same weekend as the NSW club champs which rules out some of us. Would love to try it one day

For those that are interested in last years results, they are in the 'old' 2009 website here 2009 results
Leon Colbert smashed the individual 24 hours race with 29 laps, and Dana Williamz blitzed the 6 hours individual with 10 laps.
The course was a little different last year, with a shorter bike and longer run, but looking forward to seeing what sort of crazy lap numbers are generated this year.
It is almost all flat apart from a little rise on the run, and with the roads being shut for the ride for the whole time you can get a fair bit of speed up over the short distance.

I'm signing up for the individual today! Yeah...
Leon was a nut last year. Got to the finish last year with a few minutes to cut off and went around again! If I'm walking, I'd do that too. We'll see if I'm walking at that stage though.
Edit: entry done!!

A little under two weeks to go to this event, anyone else in? Goughy? I have entered the individual 24hr, any other CR's for companionship during the witching hour or 2 a.m to 3 a.m.?

If I'm not sleeping! There's a few trannies going, as well as a mate of mine who'll smash me. I should have the toowoomba tri club tent there so will be easy to find, and the big white van (like a maxi taxi kind of thing).
