Hi all
Up until a year or so ago, CR had much more intensive posting of news articles on the main page. If you liked that, and would like to help us back to our former glory, here are some basic instructions (excerpted from email discussions with another CR):
If you are logged in as a CR member, you can edit the front page and many other parts of the site. At the top of the frame you should see an edit tab. Sometimes it asks for you to re-login (the integration between the forum and the wikis is not great). Once you're looking at the page edit screen, scroll down and you should be able to see the parts of the code where the news items are linked. The format is something like
*26-Mar: News [http://www.iaaf.org/...wsid=56209.html New half-marathon world record]
There's more info on editing on our Frequently Asked Questions page
I would love it if more CR members could help out on this - we used to keep the news pages up to date but now rely on people to post stuff themselves because it's so timeconsuming and there is a lot going on behind the scenes - like this week with our major server outages.
Because we are dependent on volunteers, and we all have day jobs, CR is only as good as the membership puts in.
Coolrunning Newswe could use your help!

Do you have any stats sook on how many actually read this stuff ?
And is it general public reading or CR members ?
To be honest I rarely look at the news page, the recent posts page is my CR default.
As you said it is a very time consuming service to provide, but do we really need to ?
