A few weeks ago I found a really, really great new podcast about marathon training. The show is called Marathon Talk and it's based out of the UK. So, if you can put up with the pommy accents (kidding), I'm sure you will enjoy and benefit from their content. They are on episode 11 of weekly editions.
The two hosts (Martin Yelling and Tom Williams) are passionate about running and have the academic qualifications in exercise science to match. The show follows a standard format each week with tips, interviews, news, Q&A plus a very funny guy called Tony who jokes on about the trials and tribulations of his marathon training and life in general. Brilliant.

I've been looking for an alternative to Endurance Planet. Too many ads seem to have crept into their podcasts.

I've been listening to it while doing an easy run or in the car. The two hosts seem to really get comfortable with doing it at about Ep 4 and joke a bit more, which makes it better.
I had a quick search in iTunes on other running podcasts. There are a lot!!!!!

I sometimes am amused at myself running and listening to people talk about running at the same time - no chance of meandering thoughts/problem solving that long runs are meant to induce with a running podcast playing.

I've actually been toying with the idea of starting up a CR podcast service (something Plu's talked about before) - it would be fun if I had the time. And I reckon I could improve on the sound quality of a lot of them out there... Maybe timed for Sunday long runs, say 2 hours (that's a lot of content... might need to locate some CR musicians too!).

I spoke with Martin last week and they are going to interview me before and after my first marathon in Mudgee. Which also gives me some more incentive to properly train and to run it out.

Highly recommended to all runners. Good to see it getting a wrap on the CR forum.
