I know Baz is toying with the idea of going back again. Is anyone else planning to go? If so, would you like to share accommodation?

Will also be wanting to share accommodation, last year was perfect, or even the place where brewer stayed was very convenient.
Plus I like the first idea you pitched to me. I think we should look into the costs & how feasible that is.

The other idea - arriving early on the Thursday morning and taking an overnight trip to Uluru/Ayers Rock before arriving back in AS for the pasta party on Friday evening, thereby leaving Saturday for rest/preparation - would be open to any others who are interested. The more people there are to share the cost of the car hire and accommodation (expensive at Uluru) the better, as far as I am concerned.

Thanks for the link, brewer - the accommodation looks better than I remember, though I did only see it in the dark before the race started last year when I went over to use the facilities!

Those 2 Bedroom Deluxe Cabins look good to me, I'm particularly liking the "Full size oven, microwave and fridge " seeing as I'm not sure what the local restaurant options will be like there
I am also liking the fact that Tiger only flies there Thursdays and Tuesdays and it gave me a great excuse to apply for a whole week off work!!
Flights booked, leave approved, bring on August!

Good to hear you are going back for a second run - a great recommendation
After hearing the stories from you and Peekie, and a little from Baz it sounds like a great run

I enjoyed the weekend last year but the Tan Ultra calls in 2010.
Interesting that after my debacle in the Alice last year, I ran a good half marathon the week after in Launceston on a cold day. Just goes to show what a big difference the temperature makes.

Presumably this lady's a bit shy CL, or else she's deliberately keeping us in suspense. Can you give us a clue at least?

Listening to your wonderful stories that sunny Sunday morning last year when you came back from your adventure was enough to wet my appetite. The fact that you are planning to go back again is an even higher recommendation. So thank you for the opportunity to join you.
After deciding that the GC marathon was too soon, I am hoping that this half will be just what I need as a lead up to the MM - with enough lead-up time over winter to build up for both.

Didn't even know entries had opened! We did the pasta dinner last year & it was well worth it, the organisers made the effort to go round everyone and chat. Then come race day they actually knew who most of us were! So I'd really like to be there for it this time too.

Well, I can confirm that I am the 5th member of the intrepid Victorian C.R. team who will take on the Alice in August. Flights Thur. to Tues. are paid for as is my marathon and pasta night entry. And really looking forward to the red centre run as well as spending time with my esteem friends in CL, Baz, LBP and PL.
Of course, we all know Baz is a bit of a softy, so hopefully my inclusion may balance things a little (or not).

Hi all Cr's. As an ex Victorian (now in WA) I will be dragging the family half way across the continent by car to knock this one off my every other state marathon thingo. Be good to catch up with Vics and others b4 and afterwards and as always running is a great excuse for a holiday... Hope to be in the middle of the pack somewhere and am sending in entry tomorrow. Looks like we will try and stay at Stuart Caravan Park. Giddy up,

A big welcome to Alice.
I am also an ex Vic and am now living in Alice.
Think I will be running the marathon but just cruising over it.
Also it has been a colder than usual start to the winter so prob gunna be much more pleasant conditions this time round

Glad to hear the news about the cooler weather - last year was horrific. It didn't go below 23.1 the night before, so you can imagine the heat during the run, especially for us slower runners ... and I only did the half!!!

Hi Coooops, it will be good to meet you and your family. Our plan is to fly in Thurs., then off to Uluru for a night and back to AS on Friday evening and staying at Stuart Caravan Park also. So no doubt we will see you before the run on Sunday.
Cheers, Michael.
