Railway Road in Quakers to Richmond Rd is still currently open, but they're moving all the gates and equipment down there now to shut it down. There go my plans for a long run along the M7 on the weekend.

With two late scratchings due to virus issues (not something that Kaspersky could have fixed), we still had 15 runners and walkers out there.
The list: me, photogirl, Fast Bob AKA Queenslander, Brooke H, Kiwishazza, Sue, Susan, Princess Odette, Georgegd, KatieR, mum of KatieR, son of KatieR (breakfast only), Joal, Sonja, Nathan AKA Nathan, nitetimerunner.
The M7 path was reopened to Sunnyholt Rd; some ventured further, others took a sensible option and completed a short run. I'm 8k sensible.
Mr Kiwishazza joined us for breakfast, Princess Odette and nitetimerunner had to leave beforehand. Separately.
Cafe McKell's was packed today, but once again they came through with sufficient nutrition to sate the appetites of hungry runners and walkers.
Thank you everyone for coming along today; it was great to catch up after a couple of months absence.
Next run is Sunday July 17 8am (or earlier for those doing long runs). Hope to see you then.
cheers, BB

I can't believe Ray was "peer pressured" off his soy drink...shame on you dairy lovers, shame!!!

Had to work earlier & with trackwork wouldn't of made it on time.
I have it on good authority that Blues Buffett was not peer pressured in to drinking Earl Gray Tea sans his Balmain milk. He is a grown up now and will stomp his feet to prove he is.
OurDogScruff had a very good reason to be M.I.A.
Ratdog on the other hand didn't. Hopefully ironman central made a move later in the day.

It's a whole new thread. It also means you need to attend each one now.
You must bring an additional person to each one. Each person must have "Sue" as part of their name somewhere.

We are starting early as need to do 90minutes but timed it to be back at McKells before 9am.
Don't worry about the walk breaks Ayla, it works for me. Did a half marathon without walk breaks and one with walk breaks and the difference was minimal.

And speed isn't a concern for me. I need to do the distance and am looking forward to the 16km.
Not to mention looking forward to meeting another true believer.

So 6.30 at the cafe? The m7 path access is close is it? It will be good to have someone to push me along.

"Course - Circa Boulevarde/Norbrick Dr to Old Windsor Rd (300m),turn left; right onto pedestrian bridge (a further 345m), across, loop down to start of M7 bike path (240m), along as far as you like and come back the same way!"
P.S. Curt: I'll sing that only if they win today.
cheers, BB

The forecast looks like overcast and 10 degrees. That's more like it - I'll only need two tops not three.
It will be interesting to see who turns up and at what point. Thomo has been injured but still turned up for a chat at CR West; the sledging opportunity was too great I guess. Who knows whether he'll be there to personally confirm the switch to a manly pot of tea...
I'd like to run with you Fred but not if you're running at Monica pace.

Even Monica doesn't do Monica pace at the moment (she's been hanging round me too long!) - we are both on the way back from injury like yourself, so will be taking it nice and easy. OK see you at 8am at the shops.

Thanks for the great turnout today, especially on behalf of Cafe McKells, which always turn a problem into an opportunity.
Did I get that get that the right way around?
Seventeen attended breakfast today, and fifteen ran or walked. I thoroughly enjoyed an 8k amble with Fred and Monica, to be sure to be sure.
Attendees: me, Brooke H, Queenslander AKA Fast Bob, photogirl, Thomo, Curt, Nite_Time_Runner, Fred, Monica, KiwiShazza, Sue, Sue, someone strangely not called Sue but Ayla2010, Katie R and her mum Joan, georgegd, Freezer. I just bet Thomo adds them up to see if it totals 17.
Good to hear GC and other running stories; this has become a very friendly group, and of course all are welcome at our next monthly run: Sunday August 21 at 8am but back for 9am breakfast!
I think photogirl will post the happy snap shortly.
cheers, BB

Next thing you know Joestat will say something on here. Nah, impossible.
Thank you Queenslander for the photo, we missed a few early flyers who scooted off to other commitments. Good bunch, well behaved in the cafe too!

I too am sorry that you couldn't run, Ayla but I hope you feel better soon.
I'd love to make this a regular run but commitments being what they are I have to use my Sundays off carefully.
Ah well, when it rolls around each month I'll be wishing you all good weather and I'll join you when I can.
Thanks all,
Curt

I'm back to being a sometime walker and a reluctant cyclist. But I couldn't miss out hanging out with the Circa M7 Social Group.
Fantastic running / social numbers.
BB, we might have to pre-order are meals at McKells prior to our run, slip the order under the door.
