Just back from a run along the M7 path.  They just opened the section to Norwest.  So if it's decided to run on the M7 BB, we can.

Railway Road in Quakers to Richmond Rd is still currently open, but they're moving all the gates and equipment down there now to shut it down.  There go my plans for a long run along the M7 on the weekend.   :(

Excellent, M7 it is unless the majority have violent objections!

See you Sunday 8am.

M7 Social Group will be running on the M7 tomorrow.

Starts at 8:00am. After is McKells Cafe' for catch up time.

Blues Buffett aka CPR will be making a welcome return to the running fraternity.

I know Ratdog & OurDogScruff will be doing a warm up running in from Ironman HQ.

photogirl, nite_time_runner & Fast Bob, aka known as Queenslander I believe will be attending.

The more the merrier.

We had a great turn out today. Despite no-shows from some regulars - Thomo, Freezer, Ratdog and Ourdogscruff (the last two were very late scratchings). There were about 12 hardy souls braving a fairly cold but very sunny morning. We all did our own thing and ran anywhere from 5 to 12km plus KatyR and her Mum joined us for a late walk.

Breakfast was, as always, excellent. Thanks to McKells Cafe.

A solid turnout on a cold but sunny Sunday morning.

With two late scratchings due to virus issues (not something that Kaspersky could have fixed), we still had 15 runners and walkers out there.

The list: me, photogirl, Fast Bob AKA Queenslander, Brooke H, Kiwishazza, Sue, Susan, Princess Odette, Georgegd, KatieR, mum of KatieR, son of KatieR (breakfast only), Joal, Sonja, Nathan AKA Nathan, nitetimerunner.

The M7 path was reopened to Sunnyholt Rd; some ventured further, others took a sensible option and completed a short run. I'm 8k sensible.

Mr Kiwishazza joined us for breakfast, Princess Odette and nitetimerunner had to leave beforehand. Separately.

Cafe McKell's was packed today, but once again they came through with sufficient nutrition to sate the appetites of hungry runners and walkers.

Thank you everyone for coming along today; it was great to catch up after a couple of months absence.

Next run is Sunday July 17 8am (or earlier for those doing long runs). Hope to see you then.

cheers, BB

Was nice to do a few kms with the group - last months early start got my time bearings wrong, so i did a few laps of the hospital and surrounding streets - boring! Teaches me a lesson mind you to double check the start time!!  I did a couple of km with Joel, and then turned around to run home for a total of 25km. Correct, I did not run back with Princess Odette - I wouldn't know her if I fell over her - lucky for both of us I didn't.

I can't believe Ray was "peer pressured" off his soy drink...shame on you dairy lovers, shame!!!  :Shame On You:

Sorrry NTR the time mix-up was partly my fault. Last month should have been 8am but I randomly decided to change it to 7:30am - the power of being 'in charge' (jointly with Thomo) went to my head :p

Sorry to have missed the company, run, food and banter.

Had to work earlier & with trackwork wouldn't of made it on time.

I have it on good authority that Blues Buffett was not peer pressured in to drinking Earl Gray Tea sans his Balmain milk. He is a grown up now and will stomp his feet to prove he is.

OurDogScruff had a very good reason to be M.I.A.

Ratdog on the other hand didn't. Hopefully ironman central made a move later in the day.

Like the new name "Circa M7".  Suppose that means we really have to run now instead of just thinking about it i.e. "Proposed M7.."

Kiwishazza, your request has been actioned.

It's a whole new thread. It also means you need to attend each one now.

You must bring an additional person to each one. Each person must have "Sue" as part of their name somewhere.

cheers, BB

I'll be there, along with Sue & Sue.  Sorry BB but couldn't find any additional Sues.
We are starting early as need to do 90minutes but timed it to be back at McKells before 9am.

Don't worry about the walk breaks Ayla, it works for me.  Did a half marathon without walk breaks and one with walk breaks and the difference was minimal.

And speed isn't a concern for me. I need to do the distance and am looking forward to the 16km.

Not to mention looking forward to meeting another true believer.

Thanks to you both, I lack a bit of confidence in my running sometimes.
So 6.30 at the cafe? The m7 path access is close is it? It will be good to have someone to push me along.

Directions are on the Wiki for those who haven't run Circa M7 before. The Wiki link is also displayed in my signature.

"Course - Circa Boulevarde/Norbrick Dr to Old Windsor Rd (300m),turn left; right onto pedestrian bridge (a further 345m), across, loop down to start of M7 bike path (240m), along as far as you like and come back the same way!"

P.S. Curt: I'll sing that only if they win today.

cheers, BB

Well as the host, I'll be starting at the official start time of 8am. I hope it's warmer than CR West last week, although Ratdog claims it was ideal running conditions.

The forecast looks like overcast and 10 degrees. That's more like it - I'll only need two tops not three.

It will be interesting to see who turns up and at what point. Thomo has been injured but still turned up for a chat at CR West; the sledging opportunity was too great I guess. Who knows whether he'll be there to personally confirm the switch to a manly pot of tea...

I'd like to run with you Fred but not if you're running at Monica pace.

Even Monica doesn't do Monica pace at the moment (she's been hanging round me too long!) - we are both on the way back from injury like yourself, so will be taking it nice and easy.  OK see you at 8am at the shops.

I should be there to partake in breakfast after some serious TDF viewing. Lucky don't have to go to work tomorrow.

Curt I hope you see this before you leave. I may not make the run now as I think I'm getting mastitis. I certainly chose the wrong time to wean my son. If I get any worse by morning I won't run but will try to make brekkie. I've been getting worse this evening and don't feel so great now, but I'm hoping it will be ok

Thanks for the heads-up. Hope you're feeling ok.

Hi everyone

Thanks for the great turnout today, especially on behalf of Cafe McKells, which always turn a problem into an opportunity.

Did I get that get that the right way around?

Seventeen attended breakfast today, and fifteen ran or walked. I thoroughly enjoyed an 8k amble with Fred and Monica, to be sure to be sure.

Attendees: me, Brooke H, Queenslander AKA Fast Bob, photogirl, Thomo, Curt, Nite_Time_Runner, Fred, Monica, KiwiShazza, Sue, Sue, someone strangely not called Sue but Ayla2010, Katie R and her mum Joan, georgegd, Freezer. I just bet Thomo adds them up to see if it totals 17.

Good to hear GC and other running stories; this has become a very friendly group, and of course all are welcome at our next monthly run: Sunday August 21 at 8am but back for 9am breakfast!

I think photogirl will post the happy snap shortly.

cheers, BB

This is astounding. A first post from Queenslander (still Fast Bob to thomo, me and others). Yay!!!

Next thing you know Joestat will say something on here. Nah, impossible.

Thank you Queenslander for the photo, we missed a few early flyers who scooted off to other commitments. Good bunch, well behaved in the cafe too!

Great to meet everybody today.

I too am sorry that you couldn't run, Ayla but I hope you feel better soon.

I'd love to make this a regular run but commitments being what they are I have to use my Sundays off carefully.

Ah well, when it rolls around each month I'll be wishing you all good weather and I'll join you when I can.

Thanks all,

Curt

Great company at the breakfast / brunch table this morning. Had a hearty breakfast prior to work (late call in, pay for some of my next shoes order)

I'm back to being a sometime walker and a reluctant cyclist. But I couldn't miss out hanging out with the Circa M7 Social Group.

Fantastic running / social numbers.

BB, we might have to pre-order are meals at McKells prior to our run, slip the order under the door.
