As I have to head to the airport pretty much as soon as I've finished - do locals have any idea where the best spot to snag a taxi would be? (I'm in the first start and hope to be finished by 9.45am)

Thanks!

Call silver service and prebook a cab. costs the same +booking charge($3-4) Costs the same and you are safe knowing you have the cab ready to go. Just arrange to meet them in the back streets of bondi I reckon.

If you don't want to pre book a cab (they charge you waiting time if you are late), best bet is to catch the bus to Bondi Junction. There'll be plenty of cabs there.

Or, jog up Bondi Rd.....far quicker than getting caught in the inevitable traffic snarls.

How does the Airport train work for you?

4 stations to Central, change trains, then 3 stations to Domestic.

taxi companies reckon there's no point booking a cab as someone else will invariably get it...

i guess the plan will be to head up bondi rd towards bondi junction with the chance of flagging down a cab unless a bus is leaving for there when i go past...

i know chances are good of catching a taxi from bondi junction as i did that last year (but without the time pressure!)...

last resort will be the train option...

thanks all...

had a happy outcome: managed to get on a bus at 10am...there was a nice line of taxis at the rank at Bondi Junction - made it to the airport by 10:30am...caught flight at 11:25am and made it to play my footy match halfway through the second quarter!

You are lucky you did not have a bag at Bondi. Took over an hour to get mine from the SH1 pickup site. I got back to my car 4 hours after I finished the race.....

I did have a bag, I just didn't use the "service" provided by the organisers...I literally jogged through the finish to the North Bondi SLC to get my bag from my future sister-in-law (my brother ran, finishing 15mins ahead of me) and then jogged back up to the buses...

You can't finish the story there! Did you win? Kick any goals?
