Picking Up Race KitDo I really have to go to Sydney to do this?

I don't live in Sydney, and if I was able to find someone to pick it up for me (doubtful), then I don't know how I will get it from them in time for the race. Am I really unable to pick it up on the morning, or are they hiding that fact so that they don't have a huge rush of people trying to pick them up on the morning?

I don't think that would of changed.
Just easier for the organisers if you can pick up before hand also less waiting in long lines to pick up your race kit.

I have a similar problem as I am out of town.
I spoke to the powers that be re: this matter and was strongly encouraged to get someone to pick the gear up for me or alternatively arrive very early on race morning. I need to send my e-ticket/receipt to someone, send them into town and then get it posted. Quite a fuss.
Personally, for the $135 entry fee I would have thought that postage of a bib and timing chip could be facilitated for non-metro runners.
The short answer is you can get the gear on race morning.

Cities sometimes like to have you make repeat visits because they are sponsoring the run whether in money or kind in order to encourage visits.
I questioned this once years ago when the Melb Mara made you go in and got told it was due to City of Melb sponsorship and they wanted more people coming into the city more often. ie a lot of people spend a bit once there.
not saying this is the case here, but could it be?

For others, I'd suggest parking on Castlereagh St or Macquarie St. The Domain car park's expense and I don't fancy your chances of getting a park on Mrs Mac's Rd or in Darlinghurst.

What I normally do is park in Broadway shopping Centre Glebe (3 hours free parking) and jump on a bus to Circular Quay a quick 10 minute trip.

race kit pick up is at Cook & Phillip Park (outside St Mary's Cathedral), not Circular Quay as in past years...
