So can someone who is "running fit" turn up and have a go without prior snowshoe experience? Or is it too specific a type of fitness/skill?

Chatting to Dougal last night about this I believe that is the case Mr G, ie anyone who has base fitness and wants to give it a shot is encouraged to turn up.

If you can walk and or run - you can snow shoe and snow shoe run - Its real easy - a few techniques required to not trip over and / or fall down when racing down hill

Unfortunately this has had to be postponed- the forecast for LM is for rain and icy conditions which probably isn't ideal for absolute beginners.  We'll wait for the powder, so if you're keen to be part of this race, send us an email so we can put you on a mailing list to let you know when it's on.
