Out of town over the break but will be back with some runs in the New Year. I am thinking of an early morning exploration of some trails at Oxford Falls tomorrow morning....but not 100% at this point in time.

Next time you're up here we can start from my place - refreshments on tap although not sure about the egg and bacon sarnies for Tropic, and maybe have to ban Hamburglar from using the loo!
Andy
See you out on the tracks again soon.

A good run along some great trails, that climb out of the creek is a good test, thankfully TT took it easy on me

Too true - what a great morning and beautiful run - Good choice Burglar.
Great to meet Andy, Dave & Paul. Burglar we can put up with...
Be a good test to power walk hills / run the flats of the climb out of the creek, then compare the time it takes to run up, also taking into consideration the damage running does.

Best I recollect doing for that 1.2km was about 9.30 earlier this year, compared to 12 something for a combination of walking and running the flatter bits. Can't comment on the damage - reckon a lot of it is mental!

All welcome PM me if you need my address or meet at the entry to Penno park at 6:10-6:15 and we will meet you as we run past.
Only need gels/food and a handheld for the run, you can fill up water at the other end.
Will be just over a 3 hour run all up for Hamburglar and I.

Yeah I'm sure things will start to ramp up once the holidays settle down. Burglar is doing a half hearted B2H this weekend. I'll help out at Narrabeen this weekend - Unsure of what Sub50 is up to.
So next weekend there'll be a run on the cards.
But don't let us hold anyone back this weekend - just organise something & go for it

I'll be heading out for a jaunt Sat evening (5-ish?) if anyone does want to meet up. Looks like it might be the least wet time of the weekend.
Flexible on the distance, somewhere in the 20's would be good.
My local territory is the trails around Forestville/Killarney, stretching up the valley towards Davidson/Belrose – but I'm happy to head to someone else's turf if they've got a route they'd like to do (always keen to explore different areas).
Flee, does any of that match up with your plans/schedule at all?

I got a run in this afternoon: out'n'back from Killarney through Davidson Park and up Middle Harbour Track as far as the Cascades (around 20km). Heat and humidity took it's toll, though!
Mornings are certainly better - but Nippers is back on this week, so I'll be at the beach tomorrow instead of doing that 30km from Seaforth. Keen to join in but it'll have to be another weekend, Hallac.

Funny how things go, after talking about what death adders look like last night, saw my first one today. It was dead, but my heart still fluttered a bit until I saw the ants at its head.

I don't think there is any water, so will need to carry a bit. I might take a cold bottle of something and leave it at the Smith's creek turnoff for the way back.
How about we met at 6am at the end of Nerang Ave?

I'd like to join you again but intend running tonight and then doing a cycle and run tomorrow morning so I'll see how I pull up. May come along and watch you do the second rep up smiths by yourself!

Just don't take me near any leech invested areas - Sub50 & I were smashed by them last sunday, was still picking them out of my shoes in the afternoon.

I wouldn't mind doing this or perhaps the Striders regular 30k run, coming from Lane Cove so I magine it will take about 20 minutes to get there.
Cheers

May be a struggle to be back for 8.30 Sub50 - maybe you get to miss Smiths Creek on the way back.
Nice and dry out on the track so no leech problem.

Sub50 dashed off after the turn as needed to be home. Tropic tried to follow, not close enough unfortunately and took a wrong turn. Returned to the car via the main road. Jeff (jdunc) and I hung off the back and made our way back to the start, whilst Hamburglar, Mexican, Paul and TB all tackled Smith's Creek again on the return. Not sure how many times??
So just 25.5kms for me, but good to get some more kms under the belt. Where to next Sunday?

Good stuff, I'm about to retrace your steps for a recovery run from Kedumba, my quads are shot. Only 10 or so k's though.

Bit of a muggy morning – the rain was welcome when it finally came!
Cheers for the chat at the back of the pack, Hallac. Not used to covering distance at that pace, so I was happy to bring it down a gear after a while.
…definitely good to get pushed, though, and have some company on the trails.
Hope to catch up with you all again, just let me know where and when.

First long run (over 20kms) for me in a while so it hurt a little towards the end. For the record I didn't do Smith's Creek for the second time I just waited for the Chris and Ben to go down and come back, a combination of distance and heat had taken there toll by the time we got back there. I have pulled up better today then I thought I would so will be hitting the trails again tonight with a quick run up around North Head.
See you all in the coming weeks.
Cheers
Paul

Around 30km. Mostly bush. I think from memory there is a tiny bit of road. Post if you are interested just so we can add to numbers.
A Six foot training group is going, with all levels of runners.
Don't forget to bring your scrunchy

Thanks EverReady – I'll join you guys at Bobbin head.
It's a bit closer to home than Cowan, so I can keep the family happy by getting back earlier.
EDIT: fixing my dodgy spelling

Ok cool,
I have printed maps and directions for Animal and Jdunc.
You two can keep each other company since I am as slow as a wet week.
Works out well for me, as no desire to see any technicolour yawns since Animal only promises not to drink as much
I think Buzzlightyear is also planning to join in the fun and has a bit of speed in the legs.
