Spurred on and motivated by getting a start - Today was our first outing this time around on the hallowed track.

We just went from Megalong to the Coxes and back.

Awesome !

Some of the locals are saying the river is flowing better than anytime in the last 25 years !

The single track was great.

Went over the bridge - the noise, the river is going off !

It reminds me of mountain rivers in NZ !

Not really rem of the lazy Coxes !

We went down to the crossing, from the wrong side, and contemplated.

One word of advise

Take a Camera

But make sure its a very waterproof one !

Crossed the river - NOT RECOMMENDED !!

Its not a crossing but more of a mad swim
Not recommended except for the foolish - its still well up !

more rain forecast over the next 4 days

Lake Lyall is spilling over

so be carefull

but the view is awesome

Best run ever on the track

great training !

If you can get there - there is absolutely nothing like running on the 6ft track !

Enjoy !

Wow sounds awesome! I'm so excited I got in! this is going to be my first six foot so I'm beyond nervous..  I can't wait to come up and check out the track soon nothing like a 4 hour drive a long run and a 4 hour drive home lol..
That sounded like a lot of crazy fun crossing the river when its running like that lol
Listening to your write up has got me even more excited so thanks!
Best of luck on the day!

I am jealous.  For me it is more like a 12 hour drive each way, so I only get to run the track once a year.  I hope the river levels are lower on race day otherwise there is a serious risk they would defer or cancel the event (virtually the same result for me anyway).

Cheers,
Ponder  :D

It will be OK.
Last year we had terrible rain in February and the race still continued.

I know the levels rise and go down quickly, more commenting if the heavy rain hits the day before...
But she'll be right eh...

It won't be 'deferred'. The other one unfortunately.

Just some clarification. The race 'booklet' does mention the possibility of postponement if not then cancellation, however if postponement then that doesn't mean I would be available personally.

So the above is my viewpoint only.

Wholeheartedly agree Brick.

And for Paul Every's benefit, March is expected to be dry!  http://www.elderswea...=disableCookies

Oops that's May, not March.
