Very pleasant morning indeed.

Great to see Fossil out there setting the pace and looking so focussed. I faded a little but "won" second place in the over 50s.

Looks like I'll have to do John's Balmain race now :)

John, SkyChariot - it's all relative isn't it ? Your off day would be my Kenyan dream run experience :)

Kenyan dream run!!!!!! Thats a classic slowmo!! I am glad you had your Kenyan dream run, you always look like you are having a party in your vibrams when you are out there.  If they gave an award for the biggest smile on course, you would always win. I am sure it gives everyone else a lift to see you and your bright shirt and big smile out there. And yeah, its funny how we all experience things differently at different times. Your Kenyan dream run, my 'barely a step away from the knackery run' It dont matter at the end of the day, every run teaches you somethin, and to me its another experience for my book of running memories to reflect back on. Being part of these things is a bonus, and I look forward to them, sometimes you run a cracker, sometimes.....like a busted clacker!!! :He He: But I know I am better because I can run. See you at the grand finale for the year in centenial park.

Well I have entered the 14k. Running on this surface is hard for me at best of times but I have a big Xmas party on the night before so may not be too energetic. Am favorite for last place.
This will be my 43th race this year and only have one last so far but I hope  some very slow runners turn up.

Maybe, maybe not, in for the 7km.  It will be a last minute decision if I'm there - have to get through the next couple of days and see how things go.

Keg, I'll be close to last for the 7km if I'm there, but won't be tackling the 14km this time.

So that is why you were at Parramatta Park Friday Running Group today. A pre cobweb removing run.

I'm in for a stately 14km and my daughter is running the 4km event. With Prachar and John (weather miracle workers) both there we should be guaranteed perfect conditions.

My 1 year old (in pram) and I enjoyed the last 4km race along the Cooks River, not sure yet if we'll do Centennial - the dirt and grass tracks there are a bit harder with a pram than the bike paths in other Sri Chinmoy courses! Might have to ask him and see if he's up to it :)

Hope to be there for the last race of the series tomorrow, rain, hail, shine, and dodgy body allowing! Had been working toward having a better race for this last one, after battling with injury and wot not the last few months, but didnt have a very good night Thursday night, and still feeling the effects of that  so by time I negotiate my epic city rail trek on top of that, probably have to be going easy on the pancakes after the run :Sigh: But I really look forward to being a part of these races, [not just the pancakes :He He: ] so just to get there and line, have a go, see the familiar smiling faces, and the new ones, is all inspiring stuff! Will maybe just have a twilight series run the following friday evening, all being well, then put myself out for a spell for a few weeks over cristmas, try and put the old chariot back into shape for next year. Been running a few cylanders short for a while, overdue for a greese and oil change, and need some panel beating done on the bent axle and dents in the old chassis, probably have a few oil leaks here and there and need some new spark plugs! Hopefully then back up to speed into the new year, and back for more Sri Chinmoy events, and looking at trying to do 7 marathons. Think the diet needs some tinkering too, been a bit AWOL recently, way too much Sara Lee ultra chocolate ice cream, and a tonne of cadbury dark bubbly chocolate :Drooling: . I hope they never put chocolate on the banned substances list, or I will have to retire!! :shok: If they swabbed me I would return a possitive to 85% cocoa! I think half the running community would be wiped out though! I hope there is a ripper of a turn out for tomorrows race, its such a nice run around centenial park. Looking forward to being a part of this and wishing everyone a merry chistmas run! Ho Ho Ho YEEEHAAA!!!!

Rather warm out there this morning - especially in the sun!

It was never going to be a great run, or an easy one for me, backing up after a 21km training run last night - but..... I ran, walked a bit, loosened my back up and finished!    Great to catch up with BernieG and BlueDog, slowmo and to meet his lovely daughter, and well done to negsplit on a great run and B also.   Well done Keg - is that 43 races this year?

Couldn't stomach any food afterwards, so passed on the pancakes unfortunately, but well done as always to the Sri Chinmoy team for a well organised run  - thank you.

Will be back next year for some of the races I'm sure.

Hard work out there yesterday in the 14k.My final work Xmas party the night before was not helpful.Seemed very warm out there too. Really struggled and came in LAST!  :Phbbbt: Back of Heel black but will be OK in a few days I hope.Felt OK at end so put it down to another race completed.Good to see the usual familiar faces out there. Will be at Smiffo next week for my 44th and final race of the year. :drinks:

Yes, I also noticed the warmth out on the course but it was still a lovely morning and a really good finale to the 2012 Sri Chinmoy series. It was also a proud morning for me with my daughter completing the 4km event and being awarded a medal (not to mention eating an impressive number of pancakes). She doesn't do regular running and just came along to have a go so it was a terrific effort. I'm sure she'll soon be leaving me far behind :)

Gadfly, I'm sure all this training will stand you in good stead for Narrabeen (might have to start doing a bit myself - less than four weeks to go now). Well done Keg on bagging your 43rd race finish.

Special mention to Sky Chariot who not only ran every race in this year's series but, I think, went home with bling from all of them. :clapping:

Finally, I'd like to thank the Sri Chinmoy crew for the great series of races this year. It is always a joy taking part in these races, and regardless of how my own run goes I always leave feeling uplifted by the friendliness, encouragement good humour and generosity of every one of the Sri Chinmoy folk.

Yes, definitely a big thank you to the Sri Chinmoy people for putting on these events. :air_kiss: Always friendly and welcoming, well organised, nice venues, pancake smorgasboards,- and it seems, an uncanny ability to controle the weather gods, on most occassions :Hypnotized: .Brilliant sparkling morning. It certainly was humid yesterday though, phew :Whew: I felt like I were running in a sauna and trying to breath through a wet sponge most of the race, and it was nice to have the relief of the tree cover on parts of the course. I ran like a slug on tranquelisers. Doesnt matter. I was just so glad to be there, be out and running, and adding to my personal book of running memories. I achieved my goal of competing in every race of the season this year :yahoo: . All over the long courses except for one. Couldnt get back upto speed for the final race and finish with the 'bang' I had hoped for, but I am so lucky and greatful to have done what I have this year. Not bad for someone who isnt even supposed to be able to run. So sometimes I have to remind myself of that when I dont run as well as I hope to. Running has given me so much, and being a part of these races has been a joy. So nice to see that many people achieve so much from being a part of them. Nice for Slowmo to have that experience with his daughter. To see the looks on the faces of people as they finish their events. To read that Keg has clocked up so many races this year. All these feel good things that people take away from these races. Some big efforts yesterday too. Nice to see people getting faster over the series. A few of the gals ran blinders, and left me in awe. Great stuff. And then the yunguns with the big grins spashed over their faces, first, last, it doesnt matter, just a great day to be alive and running. And those of us with more miles on our clocks, mixing it with them. Just one big running family really. I hope everyone went home pleased with themselves, they should be! Uncanny change in the weather once the festivities were over. The Sri Chinmoy crew must have given the ok to the thunderstone gods to come wash away our footprints once we'd all meandered off home. Happened a couple of times before for memory, spooky. I am so looking forward to next years series. My first run of the year will be the first series race! It will be a nice way to resume. I know it will be a nice venue, well organised, I will be well fed!!!!!! and that more than likely, the weather gods will be on side :good: And there will be the familiar smiling faces and many new ones. Its been a hell of a year for me. Some real highs, and some real struggles. But it is running, and being part of these events, and those I come across at these events on this running journey that earth me, inspire me and feed my soul. We have the power of the universe within and around us because we run.  I hope everyone has a great Chrissy. :) Peace and Love, Chariot

After competing in a few of these runs this year, I am reluctant to talk them up ..

That's because they're so damn enjoyable and pretty much everything a low key Sunday morning fun run should be! And I wouldn't like them to get too crowded ..

Seriously, if anyone is in two minds about coming along to a Sri Chimnoy event - do it. The last race at Centennial Pk was just a magical little morning. Everything was brilliantly organised as usual.

Can't wait for next years series.

Happy Xmas everyone and a speedy, continuing recovery is wished to 'haggis basher'.
