Just wanted to know if anyone has news on how discussions are going to continue the Four Peaks for 2011 and beyond.

There have been rumours that new organisation/s will step in. Early as it is, a lot of people will be looking to book accommodation in the next few months.

BRIGHT ACCOMMODATION

Hi everyone,
So excited to know that this iconic race will still be on.  Missing Reggie and Elaine but I know they will be there in the mountains with us.

For a second year I have organised accommodation at the Riverbend Homestead.  This accommodation caters for 12 people.  I am taking a group from Tassie and other states in Australia, offering accommodation, coaching advice and support.   If you are interested please let me know ASAP as this incredible accommodation is filling up fast.

Some of us will be bringing bikes and toys so if you want to just come for a few of the runs and play the rest of the time... GREAT!

Check out my website for further details: www.hannyallston.com.au

Huge thanks to the organisers and volunteers who generously donated their time to get this event back on the calendar  :drinks:

The turn out seemed healthy and many smiles (and maybe some grimaces) were seen on the trails - particularly Mount Hotham and Mount Buffalo, with perfect Vic Alps weather.  Some amazing times and efforts, too, great work by everyone who participated  :)  I'm chuffed to be taking away 4 x PBs and some great trail memories.

Hey Harro, yep we'll be there as well!  Looking forward to it, though with marathon recovery, a dodgy left calf and right hamstring, I may have to run/walk some of them this year!

I'm in this year! Won't be fast, but I don't care. This has been in my sights for a while now & can't wait to give it a crack. Especially looking forward to Feathertop on day 2.

yes Benc, feathertop is a hoot. If it is a clear day I would be so bold to say that it is the best mountain in Oz to summit as its actually a point and not a hump like Bogong etc. Seriously good.

What a brilliant weekend! Such a well organised & run event. And great group of entrants. Could'nt have asked for much more from the weather either.

It's taken me a while to get to this point, but I now feel like I really achieved something runningwise this weekend.

Huge thanks to Bruce & co for their efforts in putting this event together.

Not much more to add to what you have said benc apart from that I need to train more and more and this event really has motivated me back into it.

Even though I only did days one and two it was nice to be a part of the event.  Very well organised and well supported by good numbers of entrants.  Can't really get a lot better value for $10 per hill or $20 for the 4!  Thanks to Bruce and all the volunteers for putting this on.

Much repect to those who passed me on the way up!

Had a blast again.

4 peaks in for days. 4 PBs in 4 days.

Fantastic group of entrants. Fantastic volunteers.

My favourite running (or should I say fast hicking) event in Oz.

Love it! Can't wait for next year.

Yeah, keen to know this as well.

Anyone know how long it usually takes to get the final results up?

Hey guys, as you've probably seen, the website doesn't have massive amounts of information, and as far as I can remember never has.  I wouldn't count on photos being put up (never have been in the past), and don't expect results up too quickly.  Though I'm happy to be proven to be wrong!  Last year, according to my records, it was about a week before results came out.  It used to be on the traralgon harriers website, but that link seems to take me to a japanese webhosting(??) site; perhaps they've dropped it and just use facebook these days?  Anyhow, I imagine the volunteer organisers are pretty busy, so I'm happy waiting a couple of days.

And, yeah, what a great weekend it was!  The weather was pretty close to perfect for running.  I have to say it was humid on Mt Buffalo yesterday though...

Found it! Something dodgy going on with my web browser.

Apart from the fact I sucked on Day 1, pretty chuffed with how I went. Might need to re-run Mystic a few times before next year. Or learn to run downhill better.
