Anybody do Mooloolaba today?
I found it really hard. The wind was terrible. My time was similar to last years which was annoying. I struggled with hammy cramps through the run. My category's (90kg fat boys) averegae times were 5 minutes quicker than last year's.
How did anybody else go?

Just did the ride of all things. My 80's pink and orange Apollo was barely up to the task - slipping gears and a fat idiot perched on top. That 35km/h headwind seemed to blow into your face no matter which direction you went. Was a stunning day yesterday for the men's ITU but the plebs and women's ITU copped some pretty miserable conditions. I still had fun though!

A touch over 2:34 or so, including a 39 minute swim (spot the discipline I've started six months ago). Wind was horrific coming back on the bike leg and any time you were heading south on the run (including UP the damn hill coming home).
I was expecting around 2:33 to 2:37, so happy with that result. It's the second time I've ever swum 1500 metres and only my fourth open water swim (other thant the Bribie series), so the whole goal of the swim was just to get to transition still in good nick for the bike, which I was. I think it was 1:13 or so for the bike, and mid 41s for the run.
Haven't done anything at all over 2 hours since the floods in Jan, so the wheels came off a bit in the last couple of km, but a good honest effort just off base load rather than specific program.

Yep, was a pretty tough day with the strong winds. Felt like a champion heading out on the ride, but the return journey was head down. The wind really threw my nice new bike and 808's around a lot. Paid for the extra work on the ride when it came to the business end of the run. 2:34:xx, which was outside previous PB time but better position in my category, 'cause everyone else had a hard day too. Thought the after party was a bit flat c.f. Noosa but it was still a good social outing.
Sorry i missed you there SFW.
See you at the next one

Hi all
I've started a 'pics thread' which will cover the Tri bike leg, plus the Ocean Swim and both ITU events. The links:

I did the swim and the run leg for our team. Offical time is wrong though because my swim is down as 2hr 28m - I knew I needed to improve my swim but I certainly didnt take that long! I would have resembled a prune if I did!
Pretty happy with how we went as a first attempt, lots of fun, great atmosphere and keen to try again next year - maybe the whole thing myself?
