Update:

The 210 will not be a product bought into Australia by Garmin Australasia.

There is simply not enough difference from the 110.

What changed their minds?

I assume this is more advanced than the 110?  What are the differences?

Thanks

Thomo, honestly, I have no idea.

I can guess, but rather just be glad that they did.

When you look at the range now, there is a lot more choice and it is always just another $50 to upgrade each time to get to the next product. $279 for the 110 and $499 for the 610 and 4 to 5 products in between them both. 210, 405, 405cx, 410 and 310xt (depending on how you look at it)

It will be interesting to hear all of the opinions out there !

The 210 has now been delayed until Late June to sometime in July.

Because they are non-authorised parallel importers (just like we do with Polar due to Pursuit Performances poor local performance in Australia).

Do these ebayers provide walk in store front, warranty, phone number, email, names of personel etc. etc. Are they active in providing imformative technical assistance? Do they have a presence on CR or any other medium?  If they dont do any of these, then you should ask them the tough questions. Otherwise you are missing out on everthing and gaining only a short sighted saving of money!

Garmin do not provide warranty on any sale made on eBay. It is clearly printed in their warranty declaration.

An update on Garmin AUTHORISED Forerunner 210 deliveries in Australia; should be middle of June.

It could be they are easy to use and that no-one is having issues.  Give HTA a call to find out their sales and returns experience.

The 210 was a late arriving product here in Australia. With such a small population compared to USA and enough products in the AU Garmin range, this model didnt initially make it to our shores upon release.

The push to get a 110 with live pace saw the 210 arrive in Aust about 6 months after the USA. Hence the uptake on the product hasnt been the same as some other Garmin products. (Fuelling the original reason to not have it in the AU line up in the first place).

Also, a lot of people dont care about (nor understand) the fuss between Avg pace and Live pace, so the extra spend is not justified. One may argue that perhaps they should care, but the fact is that they dont !

From our perspective, no known issueswith the 210 and return rate not an issue.

Cheers

Rob

i went ahead and ordered one from HTA.
it was very tempting to get a 410 (only a minimal spend for quite a few more features) but in the end my dislike of the bezel outweighed the extra features that i probably wont use.

please send me one that will never have any battery, condensation, hrm issues etc etc etc

thank you :)
