It doesn't need testing. It is a fact of life for people both in America and Africa and potentially elsewhere. Have a look on youtube for a great David Attenborough segment showing some Kalahari bushmen in action.

The bone of contention is whether the traits that make us good endurance runners really came about as an adaptation to persistence hunting. Pretty hard to "test"!
