Are the City2Surf bibs still paper or do they do nice plasticky ones like the SMH Half and other such races?

They haven't been paper for years. This year they will be exactly the same size and material as the SMH Half ones (A5), with the timing chip(s) attached to the back of them, just like SMH Half. No shoe tag to misplace.
Spare a thought for the vollies that are sticking the timing chips onto the numbers manually... 90,000 of them (numbers, not vollies)! Actually 180,000 of them (timing strips, not numbers), as the two strips on the number are identical timing chips, just to be sure, to be sure.

Action,
Who is doing the timing this year? Is it the same mob (i.e. using the Ipico system we have), but just with upgraded antennae so that it now picks up from the bib?
We still use the shoe tags, which is probably better for series entrants....i.e. keep your chip.

The same mob, we have all new timing gear - Chronotrack just for Bibtags - that means no more Ipico Shoe Tags for you from C2C.
