[TrailRunMagChrisOrd]

Hi trail runners,

Anyone who likes to read about trail as much as they love to run them, should point their mouse and clicking finger toward http://trailrunnerma...press.com/zine/ come this Sunday (July3).

The first, long awaited (by us at least) edition is about to go live online, all grassroots-like as a pdf download. We'll progress from there, but from small things...

The birth took a little longer than expected, apologies, but we're chuffed that there is now a dedicated trail running magazine for Australia and NZ.

As a mark of respect, I'd like to note that we're not the first to trudge this path. A damn fine little publication by the name BYOS (By Your Own Steam) came out as a pdf download a few years back, but alas ran out of steam, through no fault of its entrepreneurial and hard working creator. Kudos to BYOS for blazing a trail.

We're hoping to surpass its two editions and even, with community support, get the odd Collector Combined Edition out (maybe twice a year) in print. We may live in a digital age, but sometimes a tactile mag in your hand is worth two on the Net.

Hoping I haven't overstepped the mark in letting everyone know on this forum, but thought trail runners may like to know we exist. And for now it's FREE - so not like we're selling anything Just digital dirt.

A truly great effort & well done to all involved. Having that 1st edition in print would be awesome. To keep the mag running you'll definitely need paid subscriptions & advertising because that's a lot of work & money involved. Even a copy in the style of Ultramag if costs blow out?? Well done again!

Thanks for the download.
Problem:  I can't read the text unless using a magnifying glass.  There doesn't appear to be a zoom capability.

Thanks Chris. I actually have a couple of hot topics that not every trail runner will want to know about but definitely should.
Just hoping the editor will give them a run.

Hey PJ,

If you're viewing in a web browser (ie Explorer) it is hard or at least inconvenient to zoom. Best bet is to download the file (either left click save as on the link or if already opened in the browser, right click over the top of the image and save as to your desktop. Then exit the browser and open the file in Adobe Reader (for pdf docs - easily downloadable for free online if you don't have it, but most computers do!) (On a Mac you can also view in Preview. And Zoom with you fingers on the mouseplate. Hassle free. )

As Chris stated, easiest to download as a pdf.

But as a general keyboard usage tool, try pressing "ctrl +" to zoom into any open window on your monitor.  "ctrl -" for re-sizing

I haven't run any trails yet, and once my ITB is better I plan on doing so having been inspired by your magazine. However, I do appreciate a good running mag. This one is beuatiful, if one can use that word to describe a magazine. Well laid out and well written. Thank you for making it available to us to read.
