I am interested in getting racing shoes for grass, and I am wondering if track spikes will work on grass as well?  If not, what is the recommended shoe for 1-2km sprints on grass?

If you want to run on grass, all you need to change are the actual spikes themselves. I'm guessing that you have christmas-tree spikes for track (or something similar), whereas grass spikes are usually longer and in the shape of a cone. You don't really need to change the shoe itself.

I use the same type shoes. Only the type and length of the spike changes, 7mm pyramid or Christmas tree for synthetics tracks, and 9mm cones for grass.
And I would not class 1-2km as a sprint! That's a middle distnace race actually.
