Hi everyone,
Well as many others probably did, I received from Puffing Billy a summary of and response to survey results for this year's race.
This reminded me of how annoyed I was about the speed of the 2011 first train. But the problem with the survey summary is that it doesn't convey how widespread this opinion was. So I decided to create a CoolRunning poll to find out!
My opinion is that if it took about 51 to 52 minutes every 5 years or so, I wouldn't be annoyed but fast trains in 2010 and 2011 really got my goat. But I'd love to hear what others think.
Cheers,
Boka

I have no particular knowledge of or interest in this race. But I must hand it to the organisers for providing such a detailed response to feedback. I've never seen organisers do the like before.

That's a good point Bellthorpe. And they do an excellent job of organising the race overall too.

The organisation of the GTR is awesome cannot fault it the conscept is great and the run fantastic, great feedback too. But the driver has to be accountable for the time he runs the train home in. Lets be honest the Train could beat everyone in a heart beat and we all know it. It was stopped this year for a total of nearly ten minutes at different points through the journey and still ran 50 minutes. That said, a varying time is a must or it would be boring no one wants to know what the train will run. Why not make it a race within a race the driver pulls out a time out of a hat its revealed at the finish if he is within a set margin he gets his name on the drivers cup if he doesnt, come back next year and try again like the rest of us.
