Hi everyone,

I saw the trailer for this and I was chomping at the bit to see it. I emailed the production company and they said they had no plans to bring it to Australia  :(

so.. we though, maybe they will let us screen it, and they did!  :D

The race (last year's I think) was one of the first times Killian Journet took on a strong field of the old guard over this epic 100 mile course. Anyone into trails, ultras, in fact for that matter running, will love this.

Check out the trailer..

this is a non commercial, probably loss making exercise just in aid of us getting to watch this movie. We need to know who would be provisionally interested in watching it. We are looking at small cinemas in Melbourne, Sydney and maybe Brisbane and Perth (if there is enough interest). Cost will just be a contribution towards the cinema hire cost ($10?). We will also be looking to blag some running friendly beer/wine producer out of some stock.

Sydney Screening will be 5th December more details/bookings here.

cheers, Max

all good, email me at max@barefootinc.com.au and I will email you our bank info, you can just do a transfer if that works.

If not let me know and we will go to plan 'c' (our office is on kent st so you can always just drop off $20 cash)

Hi

By buying tickets now reserve the actual seat placement as well? I have some friends that may come but not sure whether to buy tickets now or wait to see if they are coming or not. prefer to sit together of course.

Hadn't thought too much about pre- booking seat placements, but with about 25 of the 83 places booked it is likely to be a full house, so yes, it would be worth getting in early to secure seats together. We are looking at ways of pre-allocating. If we can, we will. Need to discuss with the Chauvel.

Sydney showing sold out over the weekend (83seats) so we asked the Chauvel what the options were, and we decided that to turn people away would defeat the point of getting the movie shown in the first place, so we have booked the bigger screen (200) so there are now 100 seats still available (should make seating easier too)

Sydney seats can be booked here.

Melbourne showing now confirmed for Wed 7th (not Tues) at 7pm at Acumotum.Seats for Melb showing here

We are still trying to arrange showings for Perth and Brizzy.

Pretty sure it's the story of the characters in 2010 with a whole lot of footage from 2010 and 2011.  The journeyfilm guys were all over the course this year.

I rang Barefoot Inc today to ask. They (well, Sally) said they don't send out any tickets as such, and that the email receipt is just a website formality for internet purchases; they have our names and said just to give our names at the door. I also asked about allocated seating but Sally said now they had the larger cinema booked there should be plenty of room, so it would just be a case of finding your own seats on the night once doors open.

Looking forward to this.  :)

Thanks, but (almost) totally selfish motives, when I saw the trailer it was either this or flying to the states to see it (funnily enough I am actually flying to Austin on Wed (to attend The Running Event expo), but still, it's a movie we all need to be able to watch. And we have the bar from 6 so please get down a bit early, it would be cool to put a few faces to the names/posts.

Also as an aside, we will be taking lots of pics/video on our phones at the expo and sending across some daily reports on who we bump in to of note, what new products take our fancy and any other goss we can dig up.

Thanks for the heads up, Buzz! But I'm bringing my fit, strong, 18-yr old son who's had years of practice at charging through queues to get me the best cinema seats, so I think I'll be OK.  ;)

Plus I'm a black belt.  :aggressive:

Hi Max,

I'd love to see this if you were able to bring it to Brisbane. I'd be happy to help out with looking into venues (or even just providing some leads) if that is proving an issue.

Thanks to everyone for making the Sydney night such a success. Wish I was in Melbourne on wed to watch it again!

Spoke to Cody today and I hope we will have Perth confirmed asap.

Very motivating movie, bring on 2012!

Andy, we may need to sort this ourselves to make it happen as I have not so far managed to bring a 'retailer' on board to help get it going on. email me (max@barefootinc.com.au) or PM me your contact number, would be good to talk tomorrow before I fly to US on wed.

Firstly, thanks Max for arranging. Secondly it was fantastic to catch up with all the regulars andmates who "had no idea what it was about but the trailer looked awesome". The movie was superb. I agree with Andre, this was as much about Gordi as the 4 main contenders. Lottery this weekend, good luck.

Firstly I think Max deserves a huge round of applause in making this happen - it was a great initiative and clearly done for the love of the Sport. It was great to see some old and new faces in the crowd!

Secondly, the film itself was superb. Obviously WS100 is a scenic and excellent event to watch a film about and they had loads of great footage of the run. I especially liked seeing the runners in their home environments talking about training etc - especially killian and krupicka. just great.

I am sure everyone felt totally inspired by it.

We should do it again one day for another film.
