Do you have a roller mr turtle? I was suffering with a lot of knee/itb issues and have been a lot better since using a roller before and after runs as well as stretching. Great work mrs turtle too!

I'm down 0.4kg today but 1cm smaller in the tummy and waist so hopefully have lost more fat than 0.4.
I have a cheap fat monitor which says I've lost 1% body fat. It's a bit all over the place but hopefully it's right.
Unfortunately I'm having a bit of an ankle issue so might have to stop running for a while. What do you guys reckon is the next best thing for losing weight? Cycling? Should I try a spin class? I've never done one and I'm sure my leg muscles wouldn't be up to it as I'm not a cycler but definitely still want to keep going in the right direction weight wise.

Difference since last week: -0.6kg
Good to see the weight heading back to what it was before christmas.
Had a great week running, despite some pretty hot days, definately becoming accustomed to running more in the hotter months

I just went an entire week without chocolate or Coke, so a good start to January.
Managed two hill runs, an intervals session and several swims (20 laps each) for the week.
It's not translating significantly to the scales as yet, but the image in the mirror looks a bit trimmer and the clothes are fitting a bit better.
Still 5kg to go...

Ran 10km Saturday, 21km at Hares and Hounds on Sunday, Speed Tuesday, a 12km tempo run Wednesday, and Hills Thursday. Rest today.
Had 3-4 beers after hares and hounds but apart from that have been very controlled in what I eat and drink.
Weighed myself this morning at 84.37kgs, down from 85.73 last week. -1.36kgs, happy days.
Have a 30km run tomorrow morning and then a day out with the lads at the Magic Millions races. Will be very disciplined after Saturday for quite a few months leading into the running season.

Now all I need to do is back that up with another 4 runs this weeks and a 10% increase in distance. I didn't get off to a great start this morning, decided to stay in bed rather than get up at 5.00am. Will run this evening to make up for it though...honest !

Ditto, didn't make it to the pool for my Monday morning swim. Justified because it was raining. It made sense when the alarm went off, can't work out how I convinced myself looking back now.

Had an OK weekend but had some beers. Had a swim and a ride but unfortunately I'm not practiced enough at either to get anywhere near the workout running gives me. Oh well, just have to keep at it

Did the Running Wild Narrowneck Night Run, a tough race for me as it was my first ever trail race, done over 14km through the dark, the rain, the fog...
Had a bad reaction afterwards, was throwing up for hours. Not sure why, maybe I was dehydrated?
Anyway, the upshot is that I lost 1.5kg overnight, which has stabilized after eating again yesterday to 1kg down.
So if I can maintain that and press on, it's 4kg to go!

LOL not making it to the pool due to the possibility of getting wet in the rain is just about the best excuse I have heard, really made me laugh over my morning coffee. I backed up my failure to get up at 05.00 with a steady tempo run last night in the heat, hope you did the same with your swim????

I jumped on the wind trainer when I got home and did a 45min interval ride which is the first time I've done that on the wind trainer. Wow I think due to the lack of wind to cool you down it really hurts. Strangely enough backed it up this morning by going to my speed session in the pouring rain.... At least I'm consistant lol. I'm now enjoying the aftermath of what I call the wet running shirt cheese grater effect.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the cheese grater effect as you so eloquently put it. Finally got an early morning run in today, thats run number 3 for the week. One more to go and that will be two weeks on the trot with 4 runs. If I keep this up I might actually get faster !!!!

Was 84.37, am now 83.45. A loss of .92kgs this week, down 2.28kgs in 2 weeks.
Felt the benefits in my running this week, although a very light week of just 45kms and a 15km bike ride as well.
This week is a massive one running wise, and I will be likely to be clocking up somewhere around 80-90kms. Ouch.

Back to reality. Tried to be good last week. Week off this week and it all went bad. A three day battle with an 3.5m Ikea wardrobe resulted in the consumption of 18 strongbow stubbies. Not good.
On week 2 of Sean T's INSANITY workout, but no results as far as weight loss goes.

I personally have not gone near a set of scales in years (they just do my head in) but following an injury induced lay off in the latter part of last year have had to join this thread as, although my clothes still fit the same, I have noticed some jiggle happening due to muscle loss. I am also gradually getting back on the horse but possibly indulged in one too many lamb chops today thanks to the sound advice of Sam Kekovic!

Have managed to get three runs in for this week so far though, with one more to do tonight. Weekly volume up about 15% on last week so very happy with that. 2 gym sessions planned for the weekend although the 30+ degree forcast for Melbourne will most likely result in more BBQ and beer!!

Looking like I'll have to take some time off the beer to get some decent results.

I have been riding 10km most mornings, a poor subsitute for a run, but something. Have seen the physio, also a CR and have a kneee cap issue. Needs rest and exercises which I am doing diligently. I do get to try a 5km run tomorrow.
Anyway I am 0.8 kg less than when I started, so all things considered thats OK.
Mrs T going well too.
How about this weather!
Good to hear everones news.
Just thought I would share with you the comment made to me about the three stages of a runner: either being injured, recovering from an injury or not far from the next injury.
happy running

I wouldnt expect any change in weight for myself this week even though I racked up 80kms on the road made up of 16km Sat, 36km Sunday, 10km Tuesday, 8km Wednesday, and 10km this morning. I travelled all week for work and ate and drank a bit too much to expect any miracles.
I will weight in next week and hopefully will have some good news.

Definitely! We have had a week of rain so not thebest for a run anyway! Pushed out 1 hr on the cross trainer this morning and will back it up with Pilates this arvo. Back in the pool tomorrow. As long as I get that endorphin hit I can wait a couple of weeks to run!

I'm on a limited running schedule thanks to a dodgy ankle so running 6km every second day and doing a swim and ride each other day. No where near as good for weight loss as running full time but hopefully enough to keep me going in the right direction.
Hope that everyone else had a good week.

Two weeks ago I was 84.37kgs, today I am 82.55kgs. Down 1.82kgs and 3.18kgs since we started this crazy caper. My gosh, thats 1/2 a stone!
Good luck everyone!
