Ages ago, people might remember me complaining about getting arch blisters, no matter what shoe I wore. I have tried a lot of products and shoes makes, but am now onto my third pair of the same shoes that have reduced my pain significantly. I went for a run the other day in an old pair of shoes and it reminded me of my problem, so I thought I'd put this up for other arch blister sufferers.
For me it was the lightweight Asics DS racer. I get a men's size due to my foot shape, and I still wear two pairs of thorlos, or bamboo sport socks with it.

Have you tried taping the area with micropore tape ?
I have always had blisters on the side and behind the ball of my foot - I think it is due to a combination of the shape of my foot (boney bit that gets the friction) and the way I must toe-off. I wonder if I have blisters under calluses and am filing them down daily with some success.
Anyway, until now, the only technique that kept them manageable was micropore tape which significantly reduced the friction on the skin to the tape and kept it under control
