Yes brilliant work once again Grechy (a valued member of my running family ;)  ) and for the others, I'm the 'old' bloke with the white cap shuffling along at 5:11 in part 1.

Must have passed you along the way somewhere Wilson. A 3:19:22 finish for me and only a little off what I was hoping for (and an age group win). Hope to nail it at MM.

I'm also looking forward to Ben's finish if the photo's are anything to go by

Oh WOW!!!! I have just watched part one of the video! This is fantastic! Well done Grechy, I would also like to thank you for standing out there in the cold and rain to take this footage. Its great to be able to relive the race like this. I look forward to seeing parts two and three as well. Cant get any sound on the library internet though. Doesnt matter, just enjoying the pictures. I wish I had of waved or somtheing now though. When I saw you there filming, I was in two minds as to whether to just run past looking focused, or do a bit or an irish jig or sumthin, but knowing me, if I had done the later I would have made a goose of myself or fallen on my arse, so just took the first option, but still look like a goose! Its great that I can look back on people in the race that I only saw briefly, so that I can remember more people when I next come across them at another race. So thanks again.

I am just uploading part 2 now and part 3 should be done by tomorrow.

The thing I liked about filming this race is that I will remember almost every runner next time I see them around which is different to big races like MM which I have filmed but there were too many runners to take notice of each individual.

I remember Skychariot, Wilson1972, Preecey, Shaunh all very well now but I would not have if it was a bigger race. Fingers crossed next year I will actually be running.

Great work, Grechy! It is great to see all the hard work we put in to our training in action on the road... We couldn't see it without your dedication! That long sleeve T I was wearing was only planned to stay on for about 3km but it was so cold and wet I needed something to keep me warm! I look a tad sore @ 28k (05:11) I was glad to see the end of that day. Lucky Guy, I think that's about when you passed me!

And now for part 3 with the emotional finishes! Sorry I couldn't get everyone at the finish but some of the footage is very memorable.

There is also a little bit from the half marathon presentations.

No doubt I'll see you at Run Melbourne, Grechy?! Not sure about any other Marathon finishers, but I set myself 2 weeks complete rest post race, I have broken that already, with a run on Thursday morning (8k) and this morning (12k)... not sure that my legs appreciated it so much, but how many others have been back on the road since Traralgon?

I'm in Thailand putting the feet up,25k in the first week. Will do about 50 this week, all easy running mainly cause its been 30+ degrees every day. Love your work Grechy,I haven't made faces like that since my 1st marathon finish in 2010 but not as embarrassing as I expected, lol

Great job Grechy.

I Loved watching Ben and Preecy's reaction and emotion achieving there Sub 3, Skycharriot looked a liitle bit like she was in shock being the first the female home. And luckyguy the true pro. :Applause:

I think I embarrassed Lisa when I turn the corner for the home straight and saw the clock at 3.28 something and I let out an allmighty roar, with my hands in the air I raced to that finish line and collapsed on the fence. The girl handling the medals asked if I was okay and I reassured her that I was okay and very happy .

I went for my first run today doing an easy 11km and will do a very easy 20km in the morning.

Some great footage Michael and a nice keep sake for all. I certainly looked lame (and felt lame) coming into the straight but soon forgotten once that finish line was crossed - just lovely.

Still in recovery 'training' but managed 70 k's this week and will run 20 something tomorrow. I prefer not to lock myself into anything in particular the 3 weeks succeeding a marathon and pretty much run on 'feel', which is what I have done and will set my sights on the Melbourne mararthon in another week or so.

I just want to add that it was an absolute joy to participate in this event and to share it with so many good friends.

I doubt it. I will probably be just doing a long training run somewhere on the day.

It was quite an emotional finish for me:) I have been wanting to do that for a long time now but many obstacles have presented themselves which have made it a long time coming - the last one being when I snapped the bottom off my tibia (the lump on the inside of the ankle!) just when I thought I was in shape to do it in 2010.

Anyway, have ticked it off now. Have pulled up well and back into a bit of training. Already looking ahead to next yeat to see if I can better it again!:) Having said that, if I don't ever better it I don't care....no-one can take it away from me now:)

It was great seeing the footage of other finishing; something I missed in the day. Congrats to all again.

Just watched part 3 of Grechys video. If I wasnt in the library I would have got up and bounded about in excitement! It is great to be able to go back and relive yourself crossing the line! Thanks so much, I will treasure this! It is also fantastic to be able to see so many others finishing, escpecially those who were in front of me, and their reactions. If anyone ever doubts why we run marathons, it is there in the faces of those crossing the line. That feeling is something that you just cant buy! :yahoo:Because I hung around the finish area for a while after I crossed the line, I did get to experience the reactions of those I saw coming in after me, it is lovely to see the myriad of different emotions, and to have that on film, is a lovely souvenir for everyone I am sure! Thats gold Grechy! Also reading above about what people have been doing after the race, as far as getting back into training. I pulled up so well, I had a bit of a run before I left the next morning, and felt great. The next morning when I was back home, I got up and run 20ks and that felt really good, apart from calf still being a bit tight. So I ran 20ks for the next 2 mornings, and about 18 on the friday. I had saturday off and just volunteered at parkrun sydney, then on the sunday, got up at 2am to do the public transport thing to race Sri Chinmoy 14k at Iron Cove. I ran a low 59mins and was second female. Which I was really happy with backing up week after a marathon. I was probably a tad short on speed, but  was pretty happy to do so well, especially as it was pretty cold, and rained again in the second half of the race. Backed off a bit mileage wise this week, still out running every day except friday though, just to freshen up a bit, as I have set myself a lot of big races second half of the year. I got up at 3.30am and did parkrun in the rain on saturday, ran the 5k in a mid 20mins on the hilly course, and backed up with another 2am start to get to Smithfield yesterday[sunday] and ran the 5k there in 19.52mins. So was happy to break the 20mins again and was first female, bonus! Went out this morning and ran about 22k, it was a lovely morning, and enjoyed the run around the beach fronts with the lovely sun sparkling on the water, and the crisp air. I am just enjoying running so much, and I love sharing that joy! Glad to be reading above in all your post about your experiences, and what you have been doing since. Take care all.
