Bit hard when i am red/ green colour blind and the two colours (pink inclusive) dont mix too well.  Kept looking for moving pink streamers.

Funny that - I am also red/green colour blind and seems like we had the same problem. I seemed to easily miss the pink tape when it was in my peripheral vision. So maybe I'm not such an idiot after all!

Maybe thats why i did the run in 7hrs then.  If i could see, perhaps i could do it in 4:40......But then again, i am not that fast anyway, so i'll use the excuse that i missed a few pink ribbons and was runnign to Canberra at one stage.  Nope?  Makes for a good yarn when i chat to friends.

But i will shave my head now - first three had the sleek look, and even commented on by the mc.....

This race was the best race I have ever competed in! Well organised, nice long  self supported sections and very friendly people both running and marshalling.
Count me in for next year but I'm thinking this is going to be a very popular race! So I hope I get a spot!

Well done running wild!

Absolutely - a tough one, but very well organised, right from the first moment (synchronized car parking in the dark) through the pre-race medical briefing (thanks for the HTFU lecture, Buzz!), the well managed aid station (never been asked so many questions about the fullness of my bladder before :Silly:) at Furber Steps to the finishing spiel for each participant no matter what their time. RW set the standard for volunteers organising and hosting an event.

Just one piece of advice for future competitors: if you come to a section that involves a 8m downward rock climb with few handholds and a gnarly overhanging scramble don't go all the way to the bottom, retrace your steps immediately and find the correct trail, it will save a lot of time!

A huge thanks to the Running Wild Crew, all the volunteers and all the friendly runners out on the course. I felt felt like I was doing an F1 racing car tyre change at the aid station.  Thanks to all the assistance there!! They had me out back down those stairs before I knew I had even arrived. Stunning views, great big hills and a little adventure when I too thought for a minute I might be rockclimbing off the end of Mt Solitary :Praying: !!

The bladder check.....lol. I missed mine but I overheard one. I'm laughing now but not at the time!
