Highs, passing one stage of employment selection physical test
Lows, having to taper for that, and then flirting with overtraining trying to make up for lost time Posted Image (daily gym and swim on top of run)

Started February off strong, but mid way through I twisted my knee running down a rocky hill so had to take 2 weeks completely off.

Looking forward to the Twilight HM and starting a bunch of hill work.

Feb 238.79, 8.23 per day (also 235.17 on the bike, but only 3.7k of swimming).
Jan 236.37, 7.62 per day (129.51, 9.6)
Total 475.16 (364.68, 13.3)

Still maintaining the streak of having run every day this year.  'Long' run is now to half marathon distance, with a sub 90 half at the Brisbane Road Runners in 97% humidity, and a return to trail running this month, plus a little speed work mixed in there as I start to flesh out a bit of a structure.

March sees the recommencement of the Queensland Running cross country series, so that will give a good longer speed type session on Saturdy afternoons.

A reasonable month,Kms reduced with races but still substantially above 2011 levels.
The Shoal Bay race was tough addition to the race schedule but enjoyable terrain variety.

Jan 159.2, Feb 294.5 (YTD 453.7).

Feb was biggest month ever - felt good for most of it (although hungry and tired at times!!)

Started March with a 28k run last night - no food/gels and survived. Although not the smartest thing to do on a 'school night' - paying for it today after only 5 hours sleep!!

Highlight - dropped 2 minutes off Tan PB since January. This new training program is working!

Moving to a new office, without locker/shower etc, slowed me down for a bit.  Expecting a good March, and a bad April, as I'm away overseas for half of it.

304km for me which is biggest month ever and first time over 300km. Pretty happy with that for my first month of TNF100 training. Total includes about 88km of racing including a 14km PB, a marathon PB and a podium in the Australia Day Beer Mile

Only 36km in February. Completed Hell of the West triathlon on 5th and then got injured running the next day. Didn't run again until 29th

Knee slowly coming good.  Still a bit achey, but definitely a big improvement.   Managed a couple of 14km runs, and hoping to push them out a bit longer over coming weeks.  So nice to be back on the 'road' again.

162km, 14h43min.

I still haven't worked out any time goals, but I'm happy to keep plodding along burning calories at the moment.  Cooler weather will change things.....maybe.

Races: 4/2, Sherwood FR 6k, 22:13 (PB); 25/2, QMA 3000m, 10:49.

I also did the Brisbane Road Runners Club half marathon.  Like last month's HM, I didn't race it, but it was a pacier (I think I just made up that word) long run.

Injuries/Niggles: I'm feeling suuuper.

Kilometre Log (Last year):
Feb - 162k (127)
Jan - 165k (145)
Dec - 166k (96)
Nov - 100k (178)
Oct - 133k (202)
Sep - 107k (193)
Aug - 82k (215)
Jul - 0k (125)
Jun - 2k (175)
May - 130k (260)
Apr - 138k (228)
Mar - 164k (174)

Last 12 months: 1449k

March Plan: Still putting off speed training, so I'll stop saying that I'll do it soon, even though it is in the back of my mind.
