Newbie Question: Who do I see for foot problems?Southern Melbourne Foot Doctor
Posted 07 March 2012 - 08:32 PM
I've been running for 10 years plus, nothing serious (5-6kms about 4 times a week with the occasional 10km), I do it purely for enjoyment and exercise. I've had some mild knee problems which were resolved through my GP and physio but over the last 12 months I've developed some toe issues. I've been to my GP, had some xrays and the conclusion was mild wear but nothing to be done, condition worsened and I was recomended to see the physio again. I've now started to develop additional problems in other toes and I'm not entirely happy with the level of treatment I'm getting from my GP. Question is who do I go and see?
I'm unsure if this is a podiatrist issue, a specialist doctor or a physio issue but it's really affecting my running and I need to sort it out.
If anyone can recomend what type of specialst I should see I'd appreciate it, even better if anyone can recomend someone in the far south of Melbourne that would be great (I live on the Mornington Peninsula)

I may be biased being a podiatrist myself but I certainly think they are the best people to see for foot problems.
