In previous years, I've done the GC 10k and HM, and on each occassion, as part of the entry, you had to give you t-shirt size, and that's the size you got when you finished.
They have been notoriously small sizings too.

However, I oddly do not recall listing my t-shirt size when registering for the full marathon this year.
Anyone else notice this?

This is the first time I've entered for the Gold Coast run (and my first marathon!!) however I do recall seeing a question where you indicated what shirt size you would like and I remember looking further at it as it had measurements for what a 'large' actually would be etc... I remember thinking it was handy to have measurements as sometimes it is so hard to guess what size to order for runs like this! They are constantly different makes and sizes!

Hope that helps and I do have it right...

Last year the tshirts were better sized according to what you would normally wear. The year before it was based on if you were a Pygmy and as a result I cannot wear it. Last years was more like a runners fabric and I use it often to run in. So go with the size you would normally go with

I am normally a medium and so ordered one for last year's marathon. I found it to be too small and would have definitely preferred a large!

I cant run in mine because under the arms is too tight and causes chafing...  :(

My last GC Half Marathon I ordered XL because the year before the Large was a little snug. I have found they do shrink slightly over many washes too.

There was a question asking what size as I remember filling it in. The sizes were tiny last year the one I ordered is snug so I don't wear it order a size up than normal is my advice!

I ran the Gold coast 10K last year and ordered a Large T-shirt which is my normal size. I also checked the T-shirt measurements on the GCM website which indicated that a Large would fit, but I found it too tight around the arms and shoulders so i'd also recommend going up a size if unsure.

from memory I got a large last year, which is normal for me, and I have been wearing it lately as inspiration.  I have dropped a few more kilos from last year, so I think I ordered L again.

Yes it does ask you the question about shirt size.

Well, if you arrive to the finish line within good time, no need to worry as there will be heaps of sizes to choose from; everyone gets what they want at the time.

I have to admit, I only had sizing problem once - when I finished Anaconda 2009; by the time I finshed :Loser: they gave out all t-shirst in my size. I wrote to them and asked for my size (to change what I got). They were happy to change it.

Good luck on the day!!!

You're meant to take the shirt size that you requested. If you don't then some other person that happens to be slower than you won't get what they want at the time. Take what you are entitled to. If it doesn't fit try swapping it with someone else.
