45 days to go until London 2012, and I think the Australian Athletics Team gets finalised this week.

I have put together the schedule of events in Australian Eastern Standard Time, with a list of athletes who have qualified in each event.

The marathons start at 8pm on Sunday nights, and there will be a few early mornings to watch some of the finals.  And of course the big one for many will be Bolt in the 100m, Sunday at 6:50am.  And then Sally Pearson's final on Tuesday 6:15am :D

Thanks Nando. I believe the nine network and Foxsports are broadcasting the games. Lets hope it's fairly comprehensive.........

I had heard some Internet talk about NBC broadcasting via YouTube. Not sure of any details, like whether we could see it here, or if it is live or replay.

It's 2012 surely we should have decent live net access.

I can't see NBC having the web streaming rights outside of USA.  I know the BBC has the web rights in the UK.  But there's always ways around this

Woo awesome work. Those times actually aren't too bad...though they might have been 'worse'. Looking forward to the events and personally think there will be very fast times this year.

Updated version, with names highlighted of those who have been nominated for selection, according to this article.

Also I have included Triathlon times.

Great job thanks Nando. Stupid question from me but.....do the times you specify each day run "chronologically"? eg, Friday 3rd Mens shot put 7.00pm Qual is on Friday 3rd, but Womens 10k at 6.25am is actually Sat 4th our time...assume that is correct?

Correct!  The dates are actually based on London times.  The London 2012 web site has a function to show them in local time, and I have just used that.  So the events listed for any particular day will actually go through to the next morning.  Hope this helps.

Next version I will include qualifying times, but I will wait until the team is finalised.

Latest version which includes all Australian athletes nominated for selection and their qualifying times.

The only changes should be any successful appeals and the relay teams being in the top 16 to qualify.

Very useful BUT definitely need to be aware that events with an 'AM' timing are actually on the following day here.

eg the key event of the Mens 10,000 is shown on the Sat 4th Aug page at 6.15am but that's actually SUNDAY morning at 6.15am here (ie the event is 9.15PM on Sat 4th in the UK).

Nando,

Could you do a version which shows the events listed by day here rather than UK? ie any event taking place after 3pm UK time (ie Midnight here) shows on the correct Sydney day?

Otherwise you'll have people getting up at 6.15am on Sat 4th to watch the 10,000 final and finding they have 24 hours to wait...

OK, latest (and I hope last) version, which addresses the dates.  Now all events are listed under the (hopefully) correct dates in Australia.

As it appears that neither womens teams qualified for the relays, they have been removed.

Let me know if there are any errors or omissions.

Thanks Nando.

Just a question, is Eloise Wellings qualifying time for the 10,000m a bit fast at 15mins? Maybe if have misunderstood?

Dutchie,

Well picked up, she's not quite that fast.  I mistakenly put in her 5000m time.  Her 10,000m qualifying time is 31:41.31.

This Saturday Foxtel are showing the the official highlights from many of the previous games.  They have covered off:

London 1948
Melbourne 1956
Mexico 1968
Moscow 1980
LA 1984
Barcelona 1992
Sydney 200
Beijing 2008

I hope have have enough room on my IQ box to record them all.  Works out to be just over 17 hours worth :-)

Chanel 9 - keep to the @##$%!!! timetable & show the 10 000m !!! It's 6.55am (6.15 start time) & still no coverage. You can see it going in the background during an interview of which can be shown later. The race will be finished before any @##$%!!! footage shown.

Too right guys! It is so damn annoying... what's the bet we'll now only get about 5min. of it!!! Last time I'm relying on free to air. Now they are showing 100m heat footage from last night. Extremely poor coverage chanel 9!!!

Unfortunately you can't rely on Channel 9, their coverage has not been up to scratch, just could not see Channel 7 doing that to the 10,000m on Bruce's watch.

On the other hand, Foxtel has been amazing. Watch any sport you want without any interruptions. Fantastic coverage. Peter Donegan is doing a good job with the Athletics but he is no Bruce McAvaney ... Missing Bruce.

Foxtel showed the race uninterupted. Maybe people without Foxtel need to be organised like you would if you were competing. Find someone, somewhere who has it.

People have World Cup Football parties. Olympic games parties, the way to go.

Touching post race, with Mo Farah & his family.

I seriously thought they would show the 800m,1500m,5k and 10k.
I thought they were the big ones like the 100m and the marathon....    I'm wondering if they'll show the marathon now

What's funny is that they covered quite a bit of the women's triathlon and men's 20k racewalk earlier, mainly because there wasn't much else on at that time. For some reason, they decided that recaps were much more important than the 10000m.

I have doubts on whether they'll be covering the other long distance events, especially the marathon. They did do okay with the women's 10000m (only 3 ad breaks!). I would suggest having a backup for future events. Streaming BBC through a proxy is your best bet if you don't have Foxtel.

What a great race. Thanks channel 9 for showing more than 5 min. However, shown nearly an hour late, you would think they would stop the replay during the add breaks (being that it wasn't live). Not rocket science channel 9 - after all they knew it was a great race (if the staff knew anything about athletics).

Glad to see Mo Farah win with Galen Rupp 2nd - Alberto Salazar must be one happy coach. Excellent stuff!

I have two back-ups for Ch 9 so no complaints from me. Got Foxtel on IPad via someone else's logon and also a proxy server to view overseas footage. I watched it on IPad as I prepared for my cycle and actually despite the joys of Salazar's group it was a disappointing race with poor strategy by Ethiopia that could only have been because they were slowing the pace for an 'unfit' Bekele, hoping that he still at least had a kick.
With no heats you would have expected a flat chat race, but with 8 in the mix at lap to go off a slow pace you bring people like Farah and Rupp into the equation.

I'm sure at letsrun they don't see it that way, but it is good to know the Africans can be beaten

Loved the 10000m. You saw one of the Ethiopians trying to bring Keninisa Bekele into the race and he just couldn't come with it. Farrah looked really comfortable. As mentioned its good to know the East Africans can be beaten. As a newcomer to the sport I just find it incredible that they can drop a 53 second 400 at the end of 10km. Got me pumped for my run today.

Rupp just entered superstar status in the states you would think. Being white and american - Nike are going to milk him for all he's worth.

With no heats you would have expected a flat chat race, but with 8 in the mix at lap to go off a slow pace you bring people like Farah and Rupp into the equation.

I'm sure at letsrun they don't see it that way, but it is good to know the Africans can be beaten
What !? Farah was always going to be in the "equation"... he was virtually dictating the race with his presence (fast or slow)... as for Rupp, he is a class distance runner - crikey, he does have a 26:48 10 000m PR! Besides, the East Africans are also known for their kickdown over the last lap - Rupp deserves the silver fair & square in that race.

BTW, Farah's 10 000m PR is 26:46... not to mention his great performance at last year's World Champs. (5 000m - Gold & 10 000m - Silver).

Can't wait to see the 5000m - c'mon channel 9, you can do it - take a few deep breaths & leave the other novelty sports alone for just a few 14min. intervals - please!
