I'm thinking of entering this as a tune up race leading up to my 100km at the end of September.

Anyone done this before?

Any general tips for running in Cairns during August? I gather the humidity will be pretty high.

It's a great run and the scenery varies often enough that it doesn't become monotonous. Plenty of water and electrolytes are the main thing to consider. The weather should still be pretty good up here then. But coming from Vic you will most likely notice the higher humidity. You will find that there is water every 5k along the run so you hydration plan can easily be met.

It is a great run - I did the 74km version last year.  The 64km misses the big hill climb at the start.  Running long Four Mile Beach at Port Douglas is a nice wy to finish a race.

Have a look on our Club's FB book page (and you'll get lots of responses on there) and our website.  On FB look for "Cairns Runners" and our website is  http://www.roadrunners.org.au/
