Our team (Gu Sports) has lost some of its talent and we are holding auditions for the vacant last position.
Ideally the position will be filled by someone
- with a vast repertoire of jokes to keep us entertained;
- who will be committed to the event; and
- who is reasonably fast.
Other than the missing member we have most other things organised!
Our aim is to give the other "gun" teams Quality Meats and No Roads Expeditions a run for their money. We are a mixed team that can run well in the bush and can all comfortably run a road marathon in under 3 hours.
If you know anyone keen on running joining us, are interested yourself or want to know more, please PM me.
Paul

Ideally we will find someone at a similar level.
If someone is keen but worried about their ability to keep up let's talk. All we ask is that you are open and honest about your ability and current fitness so that we all go into the event with the same realistic goal.
We are a 'nice' team (despite my forum name) and will be treating our 4th member fairly. I am aware of some teams in the past who have turned on their slowest team mate - I promise this will not be the case with us*.
* unless you are a wingeing @rsehole in which case we will push you off one of the cliffs and leave you behind like road kill!

Sara Burgess who is running really well. 2:48 in the Wellington Marathon last month and no slouch in the bush either.
No Roads doesn't have a spare runner lurking in the mountains who wants to defect????
All the Gu you can eat!

If I had half a chance of keeping up with you, I would definitely give it some thought!
Cant be that many sub 3 runners left that would be tempted to do TW. MrD, your not in the No Roads team? surely you could lend a hand. A walk in the park for you

Don't know if our Nutrition suppliers Hammer would allow that!
Unfortunately no spare runners here! UE will be concentrating on the World 24h, Angela is doing the World LC Mountain Running Champs, Clarke and Mick will be doing UTMB, SleepTrain will be just coming back from injury and I'll be focusiing on my sub 2:30 marathon around that time of year. You, Ian and Sara will be a tough team to beat, who is the other?

That's a strong strong team! Will be a great race up front going toe to toe with No Roads for the mixed team title!

Vacancy filled with Ian Gallagher joining the team.
Ignoring the fact that Ian is a very strong runner, the really big bonus for us is that he lives on the north side of the bridge and has some knowledge of the course.
The rest of us live down south. While we do OK in the RNP, without a "tour guide" we were guaranteed to take a few wrong turns.
Very much looking foward to the day - only 6 weeks away tomorrow.
