Hi all
I have increased my training somewhat over the last 2 months- (still not that much in the scheme of things) and the last 2 days have been feeling what I can only describe as a nerve type/inflammation type pain slightly medially to what what my yoga teacher would call my"left sitting bone"but kind of on the bone as well. I can feel it all the time, not just while running. I have had it before and thought it due to over stretching something whilst practising yoga. However, have laid off the yoga completely for the last 3 months. Don't want it to get any worse - first ever marathon coming up in November!!
Any ideas?

Seek professional help from your physio.

Definately see your physio. Could be hamstring attachment or sciatic nerve among many other things. What ever it is it needs to be assessed before it gets any worse. The sooner its treated, the sooner it will be better.
