One of my favourite events that saw me head north for many years. But this year it clashes with the Gleenbrook marathon and so will miss it again this year,

Very scenic flat course, excellent entry fee, and an all round good day out.  Will probably make this my second half.

I am in for the HM. Wife and son down for the 10k. Excellent idea to have the option to pick up the bibs the day before at the Mingara. Just down the road from my place.

Not sure how the organisers can arrnage this but advising the walkers to keep to the left or those heading back in have to dodge around them.

Pumped.....

Hi guys,

We're currently experiencing an IT problem with our entry page being down. Our registration team is working hard to resolve the problem so we'll hopefully have a fix tomorrow, but I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,
Kristy.

HI Kristy,

Went for a run along the course on Saturday morning. Noticed one of the bridges around the 7-8k mark has a couple of rotten boards. They are not completley rotten through but very spongy to run on. Would hate for someone to go through them on race day. Any chance we could prod Wyong council to replace some of them.

Cheers
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
Sorry for the delay. We've been liaising closely with Council where we've raised similar concerns.  They've affirmed that both bridges are now safe for runners. We'll be making sure its all good to go.

Thanks for the heads up :)

I think I must have been the first person to enter, due to a bout of insomnia!

Had a lot of fun here last year, and am looking forward to more of the same, and maybe just maybe crack the 100mins after 100.01 at Bay to Bay, and 100.45 at Blackmores SRF!

However I can't wait until NOvember, so I am going to do the Sri Chimnoy in Iron cover too.

LOL, here we go again!

Duf, you realise you're setting a precedent that for every race you enter, all of Cool Running will be expecting you to provide a sleep countdown? ;)

...although, I'm sure you will be happy to oblige. :)

Is the visor really that plain grey colour without any CR logo? I think I've seen them in similar colours to the cap... Is that an old design of visor?

Hi everyone :)

In the upgrade to our website, we accidentally dropped off our previous event results :( That has now been rectified!

If you need reminding of how you've performed over the past couple of years, just go to:

That's all for now :)

It's a pretty flat course on a cycle path. The trick is to get the right conditions, it can be hot and humid that time of the year. Last year the conditions were excellent.

58 sleeps!!!

On holidays and haven't been running, lots of bush walking though. Figure after the Sydney Mara I shouldn't lose too much fitness, but you still hate to have a break though. I just don't want to get lazy and out of the habit.

Hope everyone is training well.

Question for organisers and past participants - what sort of track is this run on? How wide is the path? How many entrants do you normally get? I ask for someone told me this race gets quite congested.

Richardegg, it's mostly on cycle path with some short road sections. There are a couple of bridges. Numbers have gone up significantly, and there were over a thousand runners last year in the combined 10km and HM last year. Almost 700 in the HM. There is enough room to pass other runners, on the cycle path. The race is at its most congested when the HM race merges with the 10km on the return journey.

Quinkin, if my memory serves correct the cycle path is pretty wide as well isn't it?  I plotted it out on Map My Run last night, it is very flat, there is one part where it creeps over ten meters but the rest of it barely moves through a couple of meters.

I'm really looking forward to it.

Yes it is pretty wide with the bridges being a main congestion point but the real issue is on the return leg with the 10ks walking/running alongside each other. A yel gets em to the left though......

10metres? Wonder where that is? Must be the bridge as the whole lot is run along the waterfront.

Decided we're going to stay up there the night before instead of driving up on the morning, so accommodation booked 1km away :) also registered the other half for the 10k, can anyone reccommend an italian/pasta resturant for the carb load?

Your countdown Duf has reminded me that this run is fast approaching.
The accommodation is booked. And the kids are practicing their finish line cheers for dad (3 boys can be very loud in a small house)

I only hope I make it to the start line as I have been unable to run since finishing the Blackmores Half 4 weeks ago.

Not sure what my problem is (and neither does my physio) but I have very little strength or support in my right ankle and the inner, lower part of my right shin feels 'spongy and bruised'.
Best case scenario - bad shin splint. Worst case scenario - syndesmosis/ high ankle sprain.

Hope to see you all there.

47 SLEEPS!!!!!

Back from holidays and back to work today. Back to reality when alarm went off at 0500hrs for run...to my credit I did get up, but maaaaaaaaaan I was slow running. I couldn't manage one kilometre at the speed I averaged for my recent mara!!!!
