Scanning through youtube because SWMBO has taken over the tv in protest of 'too much Olympics' (I know, I don't get it either) had me stumble upon this.

Getting  me thinking it must be time to start thinking about W@G by night. More details to follow in terms of trains, start options, those doing the up/back and those wanting to just hang around post run for a beer and chat.

However with the first full moon of Spring falling on the 29th (or 30th dependant on your calendar selection) the nearest Friday is the 28th of September.

So with no further ado the date is set and the invitation is there. If running a glorious trail at night is your kind of thing to do then I shall see you on the trails.

Enjoy :Smug:

You're onto something Berro. It's the week after the CP Ultra, but this is in the diary regardless. Hope to see you there.

Hmmm W2G on the 28th and lap the lake on 29th could be an interesting back up for some people.

W2G by night always clashes with somthing. Which is why I'm going to stick by the 1st full moon of spring concept.

Sorry to those who clash. If its any consolation, I'm out marking Mt Portal for RW on the Sat evening and then RD on the Sun.

To much running is, of course, never enough. Enjoy the time you have to run. Hope to see you all at the gate by midnight :)

It will be the same as running with me in day light for you.... to far behind to see me anyway. I can wear a tail light if you want.....

The only reason everyone will be so far behind you B+ is because they will be scared of blindess from headlamps of the reflection from your head through lack of hair.

Found some time to get the research done for those keen on running this in 2012. Keeping in mind a feature of W2G by night is the plan to finish at the same time rather than start. With the stated aim to get most people to the gate at the rangers hut by the magical hour of midnight in time for the BMMC hosted festivities that occur in such a venue at such a time.

With all that in mind I see 3 options for city rail sponsored transport to the occasion (note: it is with regret that I have not been able to secure City Rail financial support, please buy your tickets) based on estimated run time:

a. 3hrs 30mins (about) - Central 6:36pm, Glenbrook 7:42pm, Woodford 8:12pm
b. 3hrs 00mins (about) - Central 7:06pm, Glenbrook 8:16pm, Woodford 8:46pm
c. 2hrs 00mins (about) - Central 8:09pm, Glenbrook 9:13pm, Woodford 9:43pm

For those considering the RodThe Hornet Up-Back option please discuss as you see fit.

Enjoy, and hope to see many smiling faces in a moon lit sky :hi:

I'm in and looking forward to this one.

8.16pm from Glenbrook sounds good to me if thats what most others are planning on jumping on.

Devastated that I can't make the up train times as I have my sister in-laws 30th. Which Im informed is important to be at. Having said that we will have our 2yr old with us and as such will be returning from Tempe early enough for me to get to Glenbrook and run towards the downward propelled runners to turn and head back with them.

As pennants for my lacklustre performance I will endeavour to ensure ample amber is available at the gate along with an array of thin sliced potato cooked in a variety of flavourings.

Outside the world of CR there are also a number in the world of FB linking in. So should be a reasonable turn out for what is one of the best evenings out I normally get each year. Enjoy please.

If I can wangle a baby sitter or a sleep over for the young bloke then I will be running. 9.13pm train from glenbrook will be my depart time.

If not then I will just have to run on my own again on Saturday at some point.

GarthMc..not sledging just speaking the truth....

Lukedoyle, why such an early train? you running down from Wenty falls or something?
