Having pulled up really well from the Traralgon marathon on Sunday will probably head own on Sunday 19th June for a run.

Being a Trails Plus event will be well run as usual.

Anyone else going.

Yep - first time at Princess Parl although I have ran other Trails Plus events. Three days in Melbourne and time to catch up with my daughter who works Fox FM.

I'm in for the half. Gotta test the legs as a warm up for MM. Usually I love to be a running tourist but actually being able to run this is handy. Home in time for brunch.

I'm in the 50k starting at 7am. Big few weeks km wise for me so won't be too quick.

I had a reasonable run in the 50k. Did 5.02. Sub 5hr was on the cards until the last few laps where I had a few walk breaks. Was a close 20 lap race throughout with only 9mins separating 2nd to 5th (less than half a lap) although never saw those other runners out on the course.

Found it a good 2.5k loop course but not sure if I'd want to do more than 20 laps on that course as I like a couple of hills on races over 50k. Weather was much better than Traralgon marathon where it rained the other week.

Good half mara by RobertW 1.57 must be close to a pb? Also a nice run in the mara by the DocLachlan from Marysville and good win from DaveSpencer in the mara.

Nicely organised by Trailsplus and their volunteers. Gee lots of races to organise over 2 days. Some interim results on .. http://www.trailsplus.com.au

Up to gc mara next for me then some longer events.

p.s. also nice to see Eagle (Ray) plugging away in the mara. Well done.  ;)

Nice to see the back of you a few times. Nice run and gray time. For this race the body was just not working. I was fatigued after a few laps and it just got worse. I was never to pleased to complete. One not to forget for how I just plodded along deplete the unwilling body but will mind.

Happy with the run, tired a little at the end, but to be expected coming of what was a tough marathon at Traralgon, 1.57 best for a while RMC (Richard), there's a bit of life in the old legs yet.
As usual another well run Brett Saxon Trails Plus event, I don't know where he gets the energy. Lot of familiar faces to chat to along the way as well.
Ran past you a couple of times Eagle and didn't say anything as I don't think it would have helped.
Enjoy GC RMC having your usual holiday afterwards.

I ran my first timed event on Saturday at PP - 12 hours.  Expecting the biggest challenge to be mental, I was braced for a tough day.  (I have run 50k at The Tan once several years ago and the loops just about broke me).  However i was pleasantly surprised to find that the 2.5km loop had enough variation in terms of scenery to tick over fairly quickly: footy oval; soccer oval; tennis courts; playground; dodgy toilets; dirty graffiti on the ground; aid station X 41 laps = a new 100km PB for me.  I was very glad to finish in the cold night and really was super impressed with the grit and determination of the 24 hour runners.

I ran the marathon on Sunday. I very pleasant spot to run for me at least 17 laps. Did it become boring not really. Early there was a huge group in a circle that would cheer every so often - some game being played I suspect. Then the soccer games being played, the more sedate game of tennis in one spot and just the general varied sights of people exercising on a very pleaser Sunday morning in Melbourne.

It is the second time I have run the marathon at Princess Park and the event has some many options from 24 hours, to distances down from 100k - so every running could find an event to enter.

All run under the Trails Plus banner and by the wonderfully accommodating Brett Saxon. I enjoy all of the events he puts on at various places in and around Melbourne. :Star:

I have the Adelaide Marathon the following Sunday. However seriously considering turning the old legs over as I really enjoyed it last time and I like to support Brett. Might see you there Eagle.

That is what I have heard. I ran 21.1 on Monday at that was 2:16 after a hard 8km on Sunday.
Realistically, it will be closer to 2:07 I think

What did you think of the Werribee Mansion Half? Assuming you ran it this year?

I did. I loved the course but didn’t enjoy running into the 5km and 10km runners on the second lap!
