I've been running for some years now, done a few half marathons and marathon, but my knees have been giving me trouble. I have seen physiotherapists and mostly recovered, but I'm stuck now with a knee that is just not getting back to 100%. I feel that I now need to move from a regular physio to a physio with expertise in running, but where do I start? I have googled and found loads of clinics and physios in Sydney that claim to be experts, but I much prefer to hear from lived experience. So, anybody here who can recommend a physiotherapist in Sydney that is specialised in running injury treatment AND prevention that they have a great experience with?

ps. I'm based in Pyrmont, so would prefer to find someone relatively close by, but willing to travel if required to get to the 'undisputed saviour'. Thanks for all suggestions!

I am always happy to recommend the folks from imovephysio in Rozelle: https://imovephysio.com.au/our-team/

They target runners and healed my angry tibias posterior in no time. (It took a bit longer for my plantar fascia, but that is the nature of the beast.) It used to be Michael, but he seems to be busy with the overall management these days. My shoulder was fixed by Colin and I always love a chat with Bridget. And Mike currently ensures that my muscles don't tighten up too much.

It is a young and ambitious team of active people who will keep telling you to do your strength training...

Bioathletic in Manly and Taren Point - both equally awkward to get to unfortunately, but worth it. One of them (ultra running guy) posts here as sportsphysio. Look over his posts on this forum and you'll see honest, no nonsense, logical responses...

+1 for imove. They sorted me right out when I stuffed my ITB a few months back.
Only problem is my stoopid healthfund doesn't recognise them as a provider so I had to pay the whole thing out of my own pocket =[
So check with your healthfund beforehand to make sure they'll cove it.

Thanks for the suggestions. iMove sounds like a good option and reasonably close, I'll try them.

TimSVH I know your inquiry is years old, but this team at Lavender Bay does a lot for runners, including a running training group during the week.
It might be useful to anyone looking for this kind of runner / athletic physio support and lots more for anyone needing professional help.

A friendly group I'd see multiple times a week as we all would run the 'stairs of death' at Lavender Bay!
