frankie17 mentioned being unable to start a new thread for this year but given this is the biggest run in Australia it deserves one.

I am not entering before the SMH HM as I am hoping to get a sub 2.15 finish in that and get a green bib. My C2S PB last year was just over 91 miuntes and I have finally run injury free for a year so hopefully I can smash that! Lots of hills planned to start after SMH which has worked the last two years to take 10 minutes off my previous efforts so hopefully I can continue to improve even at the ripe old age of 54!

I have no idea how many I have done.  started while at uni...did a few in my 30s.  then have done around 6 since.    Perhaps 12?

Unfortunately a historical register has never been put together and while Ironman owns it it will never happen.

I ran the 2nd & 3rd and some after that but not many. It has been quite a while since I have run up William Street with the other masses. I should put it back on the list of an event to rerun.

Is troublesome training for this and a marathon at the same time.  At least I can be confident I'll retain my red bib, but not confident of much more than that..

Keep running,

Hopefully some more buzz Frankie 17!

Will be my 20th run this year (first in 1998).
No PB expected will be happy to finish!

As for early results, this site has links to scans of early years from the newspapers,
Back in the days when you where sent a physical certificate! (But I never got one of the badges...)

As I mentioned elsewhere it's a shame Fairfax has decided to shaft the Canberra Times run this year/

Did eight consecutive years 2007-14.  Used to always do with my mate who came up from Melbourne; the only time we saw each other all years.  Not run it since.  Peaked at 60 mins 29 seconds in 2008.  Will be happy to get under 75 this year; I don't run any more due to crocked knees.

Come one come all; share a one or two line bio!

Expo today was surprisingly busy. At least the bib pickup lines.
Bag drop on the other hand was empty.

Done and dusted. The wind chill wasn't as brutal as predicted, I didn't think. I did wear a long sleeve T shirt as well as s singlet which I have never needed but I wouldn't have minded some of that tailwind that was predicted! Shaved 20 seconds off last year. Still only 92:07. I am slow. Duh. Sub 90 next year!

Weather was perfect and only one drink taken.  That translated into a saving of a few seconds that translated into a 30s better time over last year.

Red bib retained for another year!

79:30

Slowest by many minutes but not run in five years.

Ran from the blue group and it was OK except that some people were walking from the start.  Why not just drop into yellow?

The efficiency in getting so many people out of Bondi and into the city has to be commended in my view.
