Can anyone give an opinion on the Reebok Road Lite 111 (295 grams) and the Reebok Premier Lite 111 (303 grams). Both appear to fit into the lightweight/performance category and I was wondering if anyone has these shoes and how they would rate them.
there is also the Premier road lite DMX 111 (317 grams) which is in the stability category.

regards

Pabags :)

I ran in the old Reebok Road Lite Premier DMX in 2004 picture here which was a pretty decent shoe (helps I did a sub 3 hour marathon in them when they were only 30-40km old!), although they were probably more equivalent to the Asics 2080 of the time in terms of weight.

I've been told by a Reebok rep they hadn't changed them much with the new model. About the only gripe I had was they had a fairly high back on them which used to destroy Thorlos.

They went to survive two Six Foot Track training runs so no complaints on the toughness front.

Action went through a heap of this model as well.

The Road Lite has a medial post while the Lite does not.

I bought a pair of Road Lite 2's (the 3 is the current model but very similar) and I'm pretty happy with them...breathe well, cushy and although not super light, have a pretty light feel.

The 3's may be heavier, putting them into the stability rather than lightweight, but would probably be less stable than other shoes traditionally classed as "stability"

Pabags and all

I'm as bit of a novice, but I had a pair of Reebok Premier Road Plus (stability) recommended by Athlete's Foot when they first came out. I would say I got them July '04. I was very impressed with both the comfort and the durablity. I reckon I clocked up over 1,000 kms in them. I did not have the sock wear problem vat_man had. After I finished relegated them to street shoes, I washed them and the uppers came up as good as new. I bought another brand to break in for the Melb Marathon last year but looking back would ahve been better off in the Road Lite III's which were sitting there.

Just before Xmas I found a pair of Premier Road Lite II's in Rebel for a bargain and these are going pretty well. The III's had had good write ups in both Runners World and R4YL. I have a wider foot and they suit this well so overall I am pretty happy with them.

I have a pair of Reebok Premier Lite. I rate them a 7/10. The front of the shoe is a little roomy for my taste and the sole a little stiff. Have you considered the Mizuno Wave Rider? I like this shoe. Neutral. Light weight. Comfortable. 9/10.
